89 Ace Your TEDx Talk Audition with TEDx Organizer Jess Tomlinson
03/07/2018 Duração: 01h19minIf you’re a messenger, chances are you’ve got “do a TED talk” on your bucket list. I’ve noticed that the main reasons my clients haven’t applied are 1) they don’t know what they’ll talk about or 2) the process feels daunting. Since I talk plenty about message already, in this episode I decided to tackle reason #2 and peel back the curtain of what it looks like to actually apply for one. So it no longer feels so overwhelming or impossible. To do that, I called up former TEDx event organizer (aka the person with final say on who gets approved for a talk) Jess Tomlinson, my biz bestie, to have an open chat and balance out the perspective I bring to the table as a TEDx speaker. Listen in to this behind-the-scenes conversation to learn what it really takes to land a TEDx talk. You may be surprised! Announcements: I’m leading a Vegas workshop on July 6th! “How to Connect & Communicate with Your Dream Clients” is for women coaches & heart-centered solopreneurs who are ready to scale their biz & grow the

88 Why Crickets & Low Sales Are Actually a Messaging Problem
19/06/2018 Duração: 20minWhen we’re getting crickets and low sales, most biz owners’ automatic first thought is - I’ll just hire someone to optimize my funnels / write catchy copy / run FB ads. But the real reason you’re getting crickets is NOT because there’s a leak in your funnel. It all comes back to messaging. If you don’t have that dialed in, nothing else is going to work. Even if you hire an assistant to take work off your hands so you can focus on “your zone of genius”. Even if you hire a copywriter to create you an amazing salespage. Even if you hire a publicist to pitch 10 podcasts a month for you. What will happen is: You won’t know what to give the assistant to do -- or they’ll do a lot of work but it won’t move the needle. The copywriter will write generic copy which doesn’t connect with your people (unless she first steps back with you to clarify your message). And if they’re anything like me, none of the podcast hosts will want to book you. On the contrary, when your messaging is dialed in so it’s clear to your audi

87 Finding Alignment When You’re Pivoting with Courtney Bentley
12/06/2018 Duração: 52minShe knew what made her money in her business. And that made it scary to think about pivoting. But when she stepped into trust and released her old brand… she got a majorly successful idea within a week. And when she approached pivoting with a sense of possibility, it led to manifesting money streams. In today’s ep, my gal Courtney Bentley and I chat about how she knew it was time to pivot her business and what it felt like to find alignment. Plus, I love this reminder that we are ALWAYS evolving and needing to generate clarity, no matter the level we’ve reached in business. Even if, like Courtney, your podcast has been #1 in the health category in iTunes and you’ve been a recurring contributor to CBS Channel 8 Las Vegas NOW. 85 The Key to Getting Clarity When You’re Pivoting
29/05/2018 Duração: 27minYears back, I was in the midst of a crisis in my business. I was ready to birth the next evolution of my message and how I worked with people. But I completely stuck on what I was stepping into. Which was making me block new clients left and right. On one side was the logical, expected, SAFE option. On the other side was a focus that felt like a leap - uncomfortable, scary even. I was exhausted from trying to force the message clarity to happen NOW. Because forcing it doesn't work. What did work? That’s what this week’s episode of Unforgettable is all about. Listen for help getting unblocked and generating the clarity that’s been eluding you. Announcements: I have two spots in June for a 1-1 Message Clarity VIP Day. 84 How to Know if It’s Time to Pivot
22/05/2018 Duração: 09minFor months before making my recent pivot in my own messaging, I felt an incongruence in what I was saying and how I was helping people. That’s not to say I didn't LOVE my clients. But I felt this need to be more in my heart. Felt like when I spoke on stages, I was no longer moving people. And one of the outcomes of this knowingness that something needed to shift was me blocking new clients from signing up. Which is no bueno when running a real business. In this episode, I’ll share with you how to know if it’s time to pivot your message or niche so you don’t remain stuck in limbo. Announcements: I have one spot left in June for a 1-1 Message Clarity VIP Day. This is for you if you’re ready to uncover the next evolution of your message as you pivot your business or step into using your voice to change lives. Get Clear, Get Clients is here. 83 My Brand Message is Evolving - Here’s How
15/05/2018 Duração: 20minFor months I’ve been craving a shift in my own messaging and how I work with people. A shift that will let me sink back into my heart. But I needed clarity. Imagine the frustration - someone who helps others evolve and find their message being blocked! So when I realized that I wanted to shift my focus to help other messengers move through that stifling feeling of knowing they have something BIG to say but not what it is, I had actual tears streaming down my face. Listen to today’s episode to hear more about my evolution and new direction and what it means for you. Or keep reading! Announcements: I have two spots in June for a 1-1 Message Clarity VIP Day. This is for you if you’re ready to uncover the next evolution of your message as you pivot your business or step into using your voice to change lives. Get Clear, Get Clients is here. 82 Align What You’re Good At with What People Want with Steph Crowder
08/05/2018 Duração: 01h03minThere was a time (pretty recently!) that I compared myself to biz friends who were rocking “strategies” and focusing on fine-tuning conversion rates. And when I found myself deep in comparisonitis, I had a wake up call. That’s not me, it’s not my strength. I’m all about the individual people. And transformation. And ideas that turn into core messages. Thing is that being strategic is more about being intentional than about using step-by-step formulas. That’s why I’m so excited to share with you the convo I had with Steph Crowder. You may know her as being one third of the Fizzle show or from her own podcast Courage + Clarity. In our convo, we talk about why the fear of niching is real (and bogus), why women building businesses need equal parts inspiration and instruction, and how she found her core message branching off of Fizzle and then built a successful brand around it in ONE year. Two things I love about her: her use of the word “ruthless” and her whip-smart analogies. You’ll see. ;) Announcements: I ha

81 How I Use 5-Day Challenges to Nurture Relationships
02/05/2018 Duração: 34minI’ve listened to other challenge recap episodes where podcasters talk about their numbers and stats and conversions for challenges. This isn’t that show. Don’t get me wrong, I love those accounts and find them fascinating. But what I’ve learned by running 6 challenges over the last few years is that when you’re a coach, each connection you make with each individual person matters. For me, it’s not about the numbers. I’m not in the business of marketing. I’m in the business of transformation. And I’m betting you are too. That’s why, in this new episode, I take you behind the scenes and share: How I nurture people and relationships through my challenges My process to facilitate mini-transformations over the course of a week How I craft the “user experience” as people move through my challenges My top three principles for showing up in service (that naturally lead to clients) Announcements: I have one spot left in May for a 1-1 VIP Day Intensive if you’re ready to unlock clarity on your message, where you’re

80 Why My Dream of Van Life Will Help You Get Clarity
24/04/2018 Duração: 15minIt all started with a love of tiny homes and exploring the world. Then Steve somehow found van life -- think converted tiny homes on wheels with gorgeous Instagram accounts of 40,000 followers, not unwashed beach bums. ;) Then I started to get into it too. With flashbacks to the freedom and exhilaration I felt on the 2 ½ month, 8,000 mile road trip I took across North America when I started my business 5 years ago. So together we started dreaming into what it would be like, how we’d lay out our van, started training Lexi to be fab off leash and taking her everywhere in the car… And I noticed that it felt really ENERGIZING to dream into this possible future. Where there was burnout at the start of the year, ideas and clarity began to seep in. This episode is for you if you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, or lacking clarity on which direction to go. Because it’s hard to have clarity when you’re not doing things that excite you. Announcements: If you haven’t watched my 3-video series to get your potential client

79 How to “Be Yourself” as a Personal Brand
12/04/2018 Duração: 21minYou’ve heard the advice… the most powerful personal brands are people who show up as themselves. But what does “just be yourself” even mean? I’m an avid hiker and a dobie mama so I talk about the backpacking trip to Havasu Falls I’m prepping for (this weekend already – squee!) and share pics of Lexi curled at my feet while I work in my office. Maybe you’ve tried infusing elements of your personal life into your brand – I like red wine so maybe I should have a ‘Wine with Melissa’ video show! Or you’ve tried forcing yourself to be upbeat and fun on camera. But you have a sense you’re not quite getting it. There’s something off – like a news anchor with a pasted on smile. In this episode I share with you a few of the exercises I use with clients to get clarity on when you’re in your element and how to start naturally showing up as yourself in your personal brand. Announcements: If you haven’t grabbed my ‘talk about your biz’ toolkit to remove the barriers that stop ideal clients from saying YES yet, get it

78 Devoted Fans by Being Unapologetically You with Elizabeth DiAlto
10/04/2018 Duração: 20minMy strength is often found in making everyone feel valued, managing the energy in a room, in being relatable and approachable. And it’s perfectly natural for me to play the role of the “nice” girl. As big-hearted coaches, we get scared of offending anyone or seeming like a jerk. Which is why I’m excited to share this week’s guest with you, Elizabeth DiAlto. She’s often blunt and bold and is an expert stance-taker. She’s also someone I keep coming back to for this conversation - a couple of times in person and on my Feed Your Hustle podcast a few years ago. Though her and I are opposites in many ways, we share the commitment to showing up real and genuine. In this ep, Elizabeth DiAlto and I dug into how she’s built a tremendous and faithful following around her raw, honest, grounded approach to self-help and spirituality. Like seriously - this woman has 84,000+ fb followers and when she posts to her biz page, she gets 50-100 likes and generates deep conversation. Listen to learn how showing up unapologetical

03/04/2018 Duração: 21minSince Jen Mavros and I first met in a speaker training four years ago, she has leveraged her superpower of building relationships to interview superstars like Danielle Laporte, Michael Bernard Beckwith, and Gabby Bernstein on her podcast. I chatted with Jen as a lead-up to my #StandOutChallenge when I set out to answer why some coaches have clients dying to work with them who won’t settle for anyone else while others get lost in the crowd and struggle to get clients. Did you ever see the Tony Robbins documentary “I’m Not Your Guru”? Well, it’s on Netflix, and I want Steve to watch it with me. But I made the mistake of jumping right into telling him that rather than FIRST figuring out why HE would want to watch it. So our convo went something like this ~ Me: Hey babe. Would you watch this with me? He’s a self-development guy, and I’d really like you to see this. Him: Mmmm no, I’ll pass. No thanks. Bummer! Because now, every time I bring it up, he’s got it in his head that it’s this woo-woo thing and he’d be doing it as a favor to me. When really, if I’d taken the time to first think about it from his perspective, it could have

75 My 4-Part Formula for What Makes YOU Stand Out
13/03/2018 Duração: 20minWant to stand out in your crowded coaching market? To make yourself a one-of-a-kind coach so your dream clients won’t settle for anyone else? Take my FREE 5-day Stand Out Challenge, starts Mar 19th, 2018! Sign up adriadecorte.com/challenge. Last week, I had an impromptu phone chat (don’t you love those?) with my dear friend and past podcast guest, Kathleen Ventura, who also happens to be an incredible life coach. We celebrated that she had filled nine of the ten spots in her new group program in just three days. You know why she was able to do that so easily? High-touch relationships she’s built over the years - that’s her superpower. In fact, many of her clients often purchase high-level packages from her over and over again. Kathleen is a one-of-a-kind coach who has built what I like to call a Stand Out business. She was flattered, grateful, and relieved that she was able to enroll her program that way. And that’s what I want for you, too. How would it feel if your ideal clients wanted YOU and wouldn't s

74 The #1 Key to Getting Clients Through Speaking with Dr. Michelle Mazur
06/03/2018 Duração: 56minThis is for you if you’re already speaking and want to make sure it leads back to you as a business owner so that you, ahem, get clients from it. But it’s also for you if you’re taking your business seriously and want to leverage one of THE best tools for getting clients. Public speaking. (I know that makes people cringe and that’s why I address it in my upcoming Get Clear, Get Clients on-demand program.) Why do I love speaking? It immediately positions you as the expert in the room, it introduces you to an entire room of people at once (versus networking which you have to have a bunch of convos), and being in person with people builds a much deeper faster connection and trust than online. That’s why, in this episode, we’re not just talking about speaking for the sake of being on stage but rather speaking to get clients. And not just to get clients but to build a movement. Because it all comes back to the mission behind your work. A lot of my clients have done speaking and one of the top questions I get is wh

73 Why No One Wants to Pay For Your Coaching Package
27/02/2018 Duração: 23minSo you just got off a discovery call with a potential client - yet ANOTHER no. And you’re feeling low. You throw your hands in the air in exasperation. “Why doesn’t anyone ever want to pay for my coaching package?!” I’ve been there, and I hear you. You’re in the right place because I’ve helped lots of clients with this. I went deep into answering that exact question in this episode. And since I don’t like to leave ya hanging, I also talked about the shifts I give my own clients so that people actually DO want to pay for their coaching packages. This turned into one of my favorite episodes - possibly because it’s another one where Cher, my right-hand lady, interviewed me. Once again, you can listen to the episode or watch it via video. 72 Is Your Niche Profitable?
20/02/2018 Duração: 38minAs I sat under the flashing lights of Chalene Johnson’s Marketing Impact Live listening to speaker after speaker talk openly about the trend towards Facebook and other social media platforms favoring conversation between real people rather than just throwing up something to get “likes”, I was reminded of my core belief: Marketing is pointless without genuine human-to-human connection. I see it over and over again in my clients’ businesses and in my own. Each person you connect with MATTERS. Now, that being said, I know that simply connecting isn’t guaranteed to help you get coaching clients. You need a more sustainable strategy, which is why I’ve been talking A LOT about niche (like seriously A LOT). That’s because coaches make it so much harder on themselves to get paid when they choose the “wrong” niche. If you’ve already got a niche, this episode will help you tweak it so people want to pay you. And if you’re a new coach, you're gonna need this when you choose a niche so you don't waste energy struggling t

71 From Hiding to Running a Real Business with Sarah Warman
12/12/2017 Duração: 01h08minEarlier this year, Sarah Warman was in business ‘hibernation’. Her clients loved her. But she was avoiding being seen. Struggling to promote herself. And she knew how she talked about her work wasn’t showcasing the depth she offered. Working together, we started with clarity on what her clients come to her for and how to talk about it... Then layered on positioning her offering for mega perceived value... Then layered on stepping out and visibility. Listen in to our convo to hear how getting clear on her niche, creating and offering packages, and leading her first workshop took her from hiding to running a “real business”. Announcements: Get my feedback. Head over to the Unforgettable Facebook group and comment on the Messaging Monday thread with your question. Take my ‘What Do You Do’ audit. 70 Feel Guilty Charging Money for Your Work?
05/12/2017 Duração: 20minWe’re winding up Salesvember on the podcast, and I hope you’re seeing some shifts in your discovery calls - ones that deepen your relationship with potential clients and empower them to say YES if it’s a fit. If you’ve listened to the last three episodes, you’ve got the bones for a great sales conversation. In today’s episode, I’m going deeper into something that I see make talented coaches and heart-centered business owners sabotage their own success all the time. Money Gremlins. You know, those voices inside your head that say things like: “You should feel guilty making money off of people who are hurting.” “Who are you to be paid really well doing something that you love?” “You’re greedy, pushy, salesy if you ask for the money you want.” These Money Gremlins can keep you from increasing your rates as you grow, can make you discount your work, can hold you back from even offering your services in the first place. So I decided to create this episode to share with you the shifts that have created the most tra
