Episode 150- Magnus Talks About Smallville- Dreaded Season 04 Part 02- I Can Blink Pretty Fast
31/05/2016 Duração: 01h47minIn this week's ball-operating episode, Magnus continues his kind of affectionate look back at the dreaded fourt season of Smallville. This is the *DREADED* season 4. That's the bad news. The good news is the episodes discussed in this show, namely Gone, Facade, Devoted, Run and Transference, are actually really solid. In fact, you could reasonably argue that the dreaded fourth season's positive reputation comes almost entirely from these episodes. If you subtract Gone, Facade, Devoted, Run and Transference from this dreaded season, you're left with a hot mess. When people speak in positive terms about this dreaded season, mostly these are the shows they mention. The absence of most subsequent episodes is rather telling, isn't it? Because of that, there won't be as much moral outrage as there was in the first episode of the dreaded season 4 retrospective nor will there be the mandatory alcohol-induced catharsis caused by subsequent episodes. Gone, Facade, Devoted, Run and Transference exist in their own unique

Episode 149- Big Book Report- Bad (with Chris Honeywell!)
24/05/2016 Duração: 04h01sIn this week's ball-crashing episode, Magnus is rejoined by Chris Honeywell, benefactor, co-host and co-founder of Two True Freaks, for another entry in the Big Book Report. The Big Book Report is a series not long for this world dedicated to paying homage to the DC/Paradox Press line of Big Books. This week the curtain rises on the Big Book of Bad, the thirteenth volume in the Big Book series. The focus in this graphic novel is evil. Fictional evil, such as Dracula, or real life evil, such as Joseph Stalin, everything gets put under the microscope here. And it all happens very slowly as Magnus and Honeywell have never met a tangent, diversion or meander they didn't love. Car crashes, failed relationships, nothing gets ignored here... even if it perhaps should have been. Due to the avalanche of ass-kickery, unfortunately there was just no time for listener feedback this week. However, there has been a fair amount of feedback (and feed-forward!) in recent episodes so this subject hasn't been entirely ignored.

Episode 148- Behind the Headset- Magnus vs DC Comics (Plus Listener Feedforward!)
17/05/2016 Duração: 02h01minIn this week's ball-ranting episode, the Great Goof of 2016 concludes! As it turns out, Magnus originally intended to gab about all things X-Men- Age of Apocalypse. But a lot of things went wrong with that. So why not talk about current goings on with DC? That ambition saw Magnus joining two separate episodes together into one giant smorgasbord of awesome! Magnus rambles about the New 52 and then also gives his initial thoughts about news concerning DC Rebirth. But that's not all! Not content with merely voicing his own mind, a call was put out for listeners to submit feed-forward so that their thoughts can also be given voice in this episode, as only Magnus can do! For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "You won't believe the board game commercial that gets played in this show!" In spite of the avalanche of ass-kickery this week, there was *FINALLY* some time to work through a little bit of feedback! Magnus promised he'd start working through feedb

Episode 147- A State of Being- Knight Rider- Deadly Knightshade commentary (Plus Listener Feedback!)
10/05/2016 Duração: 01h11minOkay, for the third time... In this week's ball-vanishing episode, the Great Goof of 2016 continues! You see, boys and girls, His Excellency is officially supposed to winding through the X-Men- Age of Apocalypse storyline. But, suffice it to say, things didn't exactly play out that way. So why not do a commentary? Yes indeedy, Magnus decided to take a fond look back at the fourth season Knight Rider episode "Deadly Knightshade". Thrill to His Excellency's Knight Rider origin story! Gasp in wonder as Magnus explains why Templeton is an awesome Knight Rider villain! Swoon over His Excellency's appreciation for classical music (and pocket lint!)! Yes, folks, it's all here! For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "You'll question which team Magnus plays for when you hear what he says about Templeton!" In spite of the avalanche of ass-kickery this week, there was *FINALLY* some time to work through a little bit of feedback! Magnus promised he'd start work

Episode 146- Shoot the Sh*t vol. 08- Magnus & Michael Bailey Talk
03/05/2016 Duração: 02h37minIn this week's ball-rambling episode, Magnus totally goofs up. Technically this week's subject matter was supposed to be X-Men- Age of Apocalypse. But that ended up crashing down around your leader's ears for various reasons. For that reason, Michael Bailey, host and founder of Views from the Longbox and co-host and co-founder of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast, volunteered his services for another Shoot the Sh** show. In other words, when all is said and done, Bailey will have guest starred on exactly half of this cycle's six episodes. And believe it or not, this was entirely unplanned. Bailey and Magnus talk at great length about fandom, Smallville, the state of Superman in big screen live action and life in general. For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "You won't believe what Magnus compares comic book fandom to!" Due to the avalanche of ass-kickery, unfortunately there was just no time for listener feedback this week. Something will

Episode 145- Brother Fights Brother 03- Dig Ten Graves (Civil War- X-Men & Wolverine #42-#48)
26/04/2016 Duração: 01h46minIn this week's ball-snikting episode, Magnus concludes the Brother Fights Brother miniseries, a three-part miniseries all about Marvel's Civil War. Do you wonder why Magnus chose right now to look back at Civil War rather than six months ago or six months from now? Gee... This week's adventure finds Magnus saluting Civil War- X-Men, which shows the team reacting to the Superhuman Registration Act being signed into law. Also, there's the Wolverine 'Vendetta' storyline, which unmasks the true villain responsible for the destruction in Stamford. As Magnus is a complete neophyte when it comes to the X-Men, the mutant perspective on all these matters is completely new and absolutely fascinating! For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "You won't believe which tragedy Magnus compares the Stamford explosion to!" Due to the avalanche of ass-kickery, unfortunately there was just no time for listener feedback this week. Something will need to be done about the

Episode 144- Brother Fights Brother 02- The War of Superhero Aggression (Ms. Marvel #06-#08, Casualties of War and the Confession)
19/04/2016 Duração: 02h50minIn this week's ball-confessing episode, Magnus continues Brother Fights Brother, a three-part miniseries all about Marvel's Civil War. One wonders why Magnus chose now to talk about Civil War rather than six months ago or six months from now. Hmm... Anyway, joining in for the fun this week once again is Michael Bailey, host of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast, Views from the Longbox and other podcasts too numerous to mention. This week's adventure finds Bailey and your wise leader winding down their discussion of Civil War as a storyline and beginning an investigation of Civil War tie-in books. Points are made, character motivations are considered, tears are cried, feelings are validated, tempers are lost, blood is shed and overall a wonderful time is had by all! For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "You won't believe the reason why Trentus Magnus Punches Reality is a one-man show!" Due to the avalanche of ass-kickery, unfortunately there

Episode 143- Brother Fights Brother 01- The Revolution Starts in Texas (Illuminati & Civil War Limited Series)
12/04/2016 Duração: 02h06minIn this week's ball-rebelling episode, Magnus kicks off a new a three-part miniseries all about Marvel's Civil War. Gee, could this possibly be a tie-in with Captain America: Civil War? Joining in for the fun this week is Michael Bailey, host of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast, Views from the Longbox, Bailey's Batman Podcast and other podcasts too numerous to mention here. Suffice it to say, he's a very busy man! This week's adventure starts off literally with a bang, His Excellency's lovely girlfriend drops by for a *VERY* brief cameo appearance and, oh yeah, Magnus and Bailey shoot the bull about the Illuminati one-shot special before diving balls-first into a hard, deep, lengthy, penetrating discussion of the Civil War miniseries. Points are raised, political ramifications are considered, real life comparisons are somewhat artfully avoided and a wonderful time is had by all! For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "Bailey said *WHAT* abo

Episode 142- Magnus Talks About Smallville- Dreaded Season 04 Part 01- The Dread Is Coming
05/04/2016 Duração: 01h03minIn this week's ball-grabbing episode, Magnus begins Phase Two of the Smallville retrospective. In this week's adventure, His Excellency Magnus talks about the dreaded fourth season premiere, Crusade. No, really! That's it! Just one episode! Talking just about Crusade uses up all the time Magnus had for this week. So what could possibly take one hour, three minutes and thirty-three seconds? Well, there's only one way to get the answer to that, eh? During Smallville Phase One, the policy was to guard against spoilers. But that's going straight down the tubes for the dreaded fourth season retrospective as the decree has been handed down from on high that the dreaded season four's story points are mostly not worth protecting. The word "mostly" is a tell. There is one spoiler that your leader can only stomach talking about just once. But all other spoilers are fair game this season. For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "You won't believe what Magnus sa

Batman v. Superman- Super Friends By Way of Wagner- First Impressions Review
29/03/2016 Duração: 01h32minHot off the presses! Recorded mere hours ago is this week's ball-battling episode, wherein Magnus is joined by Jon M. Wilson for the final time (for now) to talk about their first impressions of Batman v Superman- Dawn of Justice. This Superman/Batman megaseries has been all about saluting Batman comics, Superman comics and Batman & Superman comics! But those things are all behind us now! And now it's time to gab about the movie, which was the entire point of this exercise to begin with! The title of this week's episode was generously provided by Todd Strickland, one of His Excellency's loyal subjects. This week the discussion is (relatively) short, sweet and to the point; exactly one hour and 32 minutes of badass discussion. For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "Can you believe the conspiracy theory about Batman's dream that Magnus laid out?!" Due to the avalanche of bare-chested awesomeness in this week's show, unfortunately there was just n

This marks the conclusion to a five hour long Man of Steel retrospective, followed next week by an episode all about Magnus and Jon's initial reactions to Batman v Superman! This week, Magnus and Jon consumate their long, hard and deep penetration of 2013's Man of Steel. Yes indeed, the end is finally ending! Jon and a flu-stricken Magnus finally say everything they have to say about Man of Steel (as of a year ago, at least). As ever, disregard some of the remarks by Jon and Magnus about this retrospective being contained all in one episode or even two episodes. It will be three episodes: 138, 139 and 140 For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "You won't beli

Superman megaseries epic of ultra superness! This megaseries has been all about saluting Batman comics, Superman comics and Batman & Superman comics! Starting next week is a five hour long Man of Steel retrospective as well spread across three episodes followed, finally, by an initial reaction episode for Batman v Superman! This week, Magnus and Jon eschew comics altogether and continue a long, fond look back at 2013's Man of Steel. Yes indeed, for episodes 138, 139 and 140, Jon and a flu-stricken Magnus gab all about Man of Steel, yammer briefly about the Amazing Spider-Man movies, circle back to MOS and basically have a great old time. As ever, disregard some of the remarks by Jon and Magnus about this retrospective being contained all in one episode or even two episodes. It will be three episodes: 138, 139 and 140 It works out to five hours in total. No

In terms of comics, this megaseries is all about the old, the new and a tasteful selection of stuff in between! But this week, things take a turn as Magnus and Jon eschew comics altogether to begin a long, fond look back at 2013's Man of Steel. Yes indeed, for episodes 138, 139 and 140, Jon and a flu-stricken Magnus analyze Man of Steel, talk about how awesome some things are, what maybe could've been handled better and generally have a great old time. Disregard some of the remarks by Jon and Magnus about this retrospective being contai

Wilson to conclude the comic book-oriented portion of the ultra super mega epic 13-part Batman v. Superman megaseries epic of ultra superness! This part of the megaseries has been all about saluting Batman comics, Superman comics and Batman & Superman comics! Starting next week is a five hour long Man of Steel retrospective as well spread across three episodes followed, finally, by an initial reaction episode for Batman v Superman! In terms of comics, this megaseries is all about the old, the new and a tasteful selection of stuff in between! In this week's adventure, Magnus and Wilson majestically turn their collective attention to another crucial turning point in Superman and Batman's publishing history. In this week's adventure, Magnus and Wilson imperiously turn their collective attention to a crucial turning point in Superman's publishing history. Yes indeed, the guys talk about Superman #1 cover dated January 1987. And because they both suffer from the devil's own case of ADD, they spend over two and a half hours working their way through it. No kidding! 2 hours, 42 minutes, 51 seconds of Superman #1 discussion. But that's not all that happens in these

Trentus Magnus Jabs Reality- 2016 Presidential Primaries (with Chris Honeywell!)
19/02/2016 Duração: 01h24minIn this special edition of Trentus Magnus Punches Jabs Reality, Magnus is joined by former Carthage, New York mayoral candidate Chris Honeywell for an affectionate, non-partisan review of the state of affairs with the current Presidential primaries through the end of New Hampshire. Ideas are bandied about and while sides are rarely taken, listener-discretion is nevertheless advised (hell, it's *ACTIVELY ENCOURAGED*) because of the potentially sensitive nature of the discussion. No candidates are criticized and sides really aren't taken on most issues; the conversation revolves primarily around election 2016 as a media event. But, seriously, *BE ADVISED THAT THIS IS POLITICAL AND THUS POTENTIALLY BOTHERSOME*. You've been warned. So don't gripe at Magnus because he or Honeywell said something you don't like. Chris can be griped at by sending email to twotruefreaks@gmail.com however. :)

Episode 135- The Actuary & the Sleeper- Batman #516-#517, Detective Comics #683-#684
16/02/2016 Duração: 57minIn this week's ball-dreaming episode, Magnus continues the ultra super mega epic 13-part Batman v. Superman megaseries epic! The objective of this megaseries is to salute Batman comics, Superman comics and Batman & Superman comics! In terms of comics, this megaseries is all about the old, the new and a tasteful selection of stuff in between! In this week's adventure, Magnus turns his attention on one of the most important pivot-points in the Dark Knight's extensive publishing history. Batman has been deeply affected by then recent events in his life and these comics begin hinting at what in store for the character. The crying shame is *NOBODY* recognizes that. Nobody, that is, except for your fearless leader! But that's not all that happens in these issues! Nope! A major character gets an extensive makeover, forever altering his destiny in the comics world. Due to the avalanche of rugged awesomeness in this week's show, unfortunately there was just no time for listener feedback this week. A plan has been

Episode 134- Magnus Talks About Smallville- Mighty Season 03 Part 05- Thank You
09/02/2016 Duração: 01h01minIn this week's ball-stabbing episode, Magnus wraps up Phase One of the Smallville retrospective. In this week's adventure, Talisman, Forsaken and Covenant from the Mighty Season 3 are all analyzed to borderline pornographic extremes. Plot lines are put under the microscope, character arcs are combed through, everything gets dropped into a blender and put on Puree and all in all Smallville Phase One has been officially subjected to a degree of analysis and critique that nobody has ever attempted before. Many revelations are made in this batch of episodes, not least of which being current goings on with Lex's investigation of the Kent family in general and Clark in particular. But the best is yet to come! Yes, beginning in April the spotlight falls on Smallville Phase Two beginning with the dreaded season 4. For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "Magnus said *WHAT* about KFC?!" Due to the avalanche of ass-kickery, unfortunately there was just no time

Episode 133- Big Book Report- Weird Wild West (with Chris Honeywell!)
02/02/2016 Duração: 02h38minIn this week's ball-rustling episode, Magnus and Two True Freaks superstar Chris Honeywell begin winding down the Big Book Report series. This week the Big Book Reporters run their mouths virtually non-stop about the Big Book of the Weird, Wild West. When you think about it, the Wild West was a pretty bizarre time in American history, and this Big Book does a thorough job of documenting many oddities from that period of time. From medicine shows to cowboys vs. flying saucers, from cannibals to wannabe outlaws, no stone is left unturned in this discussion. But that comes later. Before all that stuff, the Big Book Reporters exhibit Satan's own case of ADD and follow every single tangent that comes their way. Due to the avalanche of covered wagon awesomeness in this week's show, unfortunately there was just no time for listener feedback this week. A plan has been formed to be deal with the backlog of feedback but it's far too early to go into details beyond that. Even so, fear not, loyal subjects! Your leader wi
