Trentus Magnus Punches Reality

In this week's ball-operating episode, Magnus continues his kind of affectionate look back at the dreaded fourt season of Smallville. This is the *DREADED* season 4. That's the bad news. The good news is the episodes discussed in this show, namely Gone, Facade, Devoted, Run and Transference, are actually really solid. In fact, you could reasonably argue that the dreaded fourth season's positive reputation comes almost entirely from these episodes. If you subtract Gone, Facade, Devoted, Run and Transference from this dreaded season, you're left with a hot mess. When people speak in positive terms about this dreaded season, mostly these are the shows they mention. The absence of most subsequent episodes is rather telling, isn't it? Because of that, there won't be as much moral outrage as there was in the first episode of the dreaded season 4 retrospective nor will there be the mandatory alcohol-induced catharsis caused by subsequent episodes.
