Brock Lindow is the lead singer of the metal band 36 Crazyfists. He has also been the afternoon radio host on KZND in Anchorage, AK. 36 Crazyfists started in the Northeast and Brock is from Alaska and in between stints of playing rockstar, he's played radio DJ. On this Rockcast we get the history of the band and how being a lead singer in a metal band and a radio DJ work together. Plus Kaytie fangirls.

With all of the sexual harassment and assault being brought to light in the entertainment business we felt maybe it was time for a dumb guy and two women to dissect the issues on the music business side of it. To help us do that, Kaytie and Cutter are joined by Haleigh Dever. Hales was most recently doing nights on The Blitz in Columbus, OH until she was let go this past summer. She now has been tour managing the band My Ticket Home while managing two others. On top of that she is helping L.A. Lloyd for his rock syndicated show. Jacboby Shaddix of Papa Roach once told his guitar player Jerry Horton and myself that we look so much alike we could be brothers. I don't see it but hey what the hell. Always amazing to catch up with Jerry who's one of my favorite guitar players in modern rock. We did joke around about being each other's doppelganger at the beginning of the conversation, but we were cut off. We then picked up the conversation there. Papa Roach's new album is called 'Crooked Teeth' and they'll be playing a few X-mas shows in December.

With the announcement of Jeff Gutt as the new frontman for Stone Temple Pilots, Kaytie and I decided to discuss the "replacements" in rock. We dissected the bands that have been successful with new members and those who haven't, along with tons of our usual ridiculousness.

In light of 60 people being kicked out of an A Perfect Circle show for recording and taking pictures with their phones, Kaytie and I ask the question: Is it worth it? For years bands and venues alike have said no recording devices of any kind will be permitted into the show. Now with technology everyone has a recording device in their pocket, but what's too much? The title might be a bit misleading, but after this conversation with Joe Duplantier (singer/guitarist) of Gojira that's kind of what it felt like. This is two guys talking about writing, talking about metal and talking about being dads.

On the latest host episode of the Rockcast Kaytie and Cutter discuss what it actually takes to interview all these rockstars you hear us talk to. We discuss how bad interviews happen and why Cutter generally feels bad for those musicians who have to keep answering the same question over and over again. Plus there's some sex jokes and a drinking game. Everytime Kaytie says "Rock on the Range" drink!

Sure we had this conversation while at Aftershock before Five Finger Death Punch's performance on day 2, but I had to save it until today. Why? Cause I promised. There is a new Death Punch song out today called "Trouble." It's on the new greatest hits album 'Decade of Destruction' due out December 1st. Jeremy and I quickly caught up on the new song and what it means to have a greatest hits record. Plus why it's nice to be looking to the future instead of worrying about a lawsuit.

I have always had a respect for The Butcher Babies in just how they have become a popular band. They haven't had a radio hit or that one song that everyone knows but in the process of their 10 year career they have amassed a giant, passionate following. With a new album around the corner, 'Lillith' due out Oct. 27th, it was time to have a long conversation about how and about their new music. This is a band that you must see live.

From playing the side stages two years ago to playing the main stage in the middle of the day it's been a pretty crazy ride for the band Beartooth. Caleb and I caught up and found out what's next in the way of new music for Beartooth.

Yes he's a giant superstar, yes he's a legendary wrestler from the WWE, yes he's a household name, but at the end of the day he's a rocker like the rest of us. Chris Jericho has become one of my favorite people in rock and couldn't be happier for his band Fozzy having a top 10 rock song and a top 10 album both named "Judas"

I've talked to Jonny Hawkins from Nothing More so many times that it was nice to catch up with the bands guitarist and bassist, Mark and Dan. Hearing about 'The Stories We Tell Ourselves' from their perspective is pretty cool. Remember the background noise is very noticeable as this conversation took place in the media tent at Aftershock.

Continuing the day one Aftershock adventure I was able to catch up with one of my favorite musicians, Billy Howerdel from A Perfect Circle. This show kicks off their North American tour and now that we have new music in the song "The Doomed" it was high time to catch up.

I'm hanging at The Aftershock music festival in Sacramento, CA all weekend seeing live music and talking with rock n' roll friends. When it comes to Stone Sour you never know what will happen when you get into their trailer. I knew I was sitting down to talk to Roy Mayorga, but Corey Taylor and Josh Rand just couldn't help themselves.

Some of the greatest rock albums to ever be released came out in the later part of 1991. Scratch that, some of the greatest albums period came out in '91. Metallica, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Ozzy, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Guns n' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more all released career defining albums between the middle of August and the end of September. 1991 has gone down as one of, if not the greatest year in music history. Sam Kiszka is the bassist for the band Greta Van Fleet out of Frankenmuth, MI. (Frankenmuth is also known as Christmas town,) Sam formed the band along with his brothers Josh and Jake. There are only teenagers fresh out of high school and yet their song "Highway Tune" spent most of the month of September on top of the rock charts. That song was also featured in an episode of the Showtime show Shameless. Now you know who they are, but let's find out how it came to be for one the hottest new bands in rock, Greta Van Fleet.

Our lovely Kaytie went and spent some time at the Sonic Boom festival in Janesville, WI on Sunday Oct. 1st. Sure she hung out with some rockstars and other radio friends, but she also got to have a few conversations with some of our favorite people. Kaytie and I needed to catch up with Avenged Sevenfold ahead of tickets going on sale for The Stage World Tour. Enter bassist Johnny Christ. The tour which also features Breaking Benjamin and Bullet For My Valentine is hitting arenas all over the U.S. starting in early January. There's also a little court case going on that we had to ask about. Plus they just put out an amazing version of Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" for the deluxe edition of The Stage. Yeah a lot to cover. This interview originally took place live on Facebook, because apparently that's what us media people do now. We talked on Starset's tour bus outside of a venue before they went on to play two giant rock festivals in the same weekend, Louder Than Life and Sonic Boom. Starset's new album 'Vessels' has been doing extremely well and the second single "Satellite" is currently skyrocketing up the rock radio charts. On top of that Dustin and the Starset Society (which Dustin explains during this interview) just put out the new Marvel published graphic novel 'The Prox: Transmissions.'
