We had such an amazing response to our last (host) podcast about booking shows that we had to do a follow up. This time Kaytie and I are going through the day of the big rock shows and what's really going on behind the scenes. We do our best to answer some questions we've received and explain why you should quit your bitching with technical problems, or severe weather happen. From the shadow of Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI I did a live radio show ahead of the annual Razor Edgefest concert. My home radio station Razor 94.7 (WZOR) every year puts on a smaller outdoor show in the parking lot of the Green Bay Distillery. Just so happens that it's directly across the street from the Green Bay Packers practice facility and kitty corner from Lambeau Field. The line-up this year was Black Stone Cherry, 10 Years, Gemini Syndrome and Through Fire. I talked to all the bands live on the air from the patio of the venue. It was a great day and so much fun catching up with new and old friends. This episode of the Rockcast is my conversations with all 4 bands, as they happened. Enjoy!

Over the last few months we've been asked the question on how concert booking works. We have also seen all the negative comments about someone's favorite band playing on a week night, or tickets being to expensive, or the ending to early, or not liking the headliner of a major festival, or whatever other excuse you can come up with. Well a lot goes into booking a tour or even just a one off show. The agents, the promoters, the venues, sometimes the radio stations, and yes even the bands have to put a lot of work into setting these shows or tours up. Kaytie and I dig deeper and discuss the ins and outs of how this works. You're welcome.

Kaytie and I had a real quick conversation with the lead singer of Nothing More, Jonny Hawkins. Their second album 'The Stories We Tell Ourselves' came out last Friday and after being able to spend a lot of time with it, we needed to geek out on it. This won't take long for you to listen to, so enjoy our conversation about one of the best newer bands on the block, Nothing More.

He is the outspoken bassist who is most well known for his work in Rage Against the Machine. There was of course those 3 albums with Chris Cornell as the front-man for the band Audioslave. Now Tim along with his RATM/Audioslave bandmates, guitarist Tom Morello & drummer Brad Wilk, are back with Prophets of Rage. Now on the mic though are B-Real from Cypress Hill and Chuck D from Public Enemy. Tim and I caught up ahead of the debut Prophets of Rage full length album coming out this Friday.

The band Wayland have actually been kicking it in the rock n' roll scene for a some time now. After releasing a couple EP's and touring non-stop they have finally announced a full length album called 'Rinse and Repeat' due out on Sept. 22nd. They also have a new drummer in Nigel Dupree (yes he is the son of Jackyl wild man Jesse James Dupree) Ahead of them playing the annual Harley-Davidson Rally in Milwaukee, WI I had them stop by the studio to say hi and they brought their guitars. A little conversation, a little music all before a few drinks later on that day. It's Wayland Unplugged on the Rockcast.

Lock Kaytie, Rylan and myself in a studio and this is what you get. A conversation about sex at rock concerts. We've all seen it, go to a festival or just a normal show at a club and there's someone who just couldn't wait until they got home, or even to the car. No guests just us hosts sharing stories. This is not PG, it's not rated X, but it's definitely not PG.

Listen, the stories about Scott are almost stuff of legend at this point. A few years ago I was skeptical that he had turned it around, sobered up, concentrated on his family and his music. Maybe we were all a little skeptical that the lead singer of a band that has sold over 50 million records could come back to earth, but he did. Since, Scott and I have had some talks, I've met his wonderful wife and he's still one of the most entertaining frontmen in the business. Sure he still lives in his world (like saying Trapt and The Sick Puppies are up and coming rock bands,) but it's a safe and well maintained world. Kaytie and I caught up with Scott just ahead of his headlining solo run on the Make American Rock Again tour.

Cutter went backstage to speak with Pop Evil frontman Leigh Kakaty. The guys talked about the love for Wisconsin and Michigan, the upcoming 5th album and the newest line-up change.

Blacktop Mojo is not a household name, in fact you may have seen this episode title and said out loud, "who?" Well that's what Kaytie and I are here for and we love when we get to introduce you to new bands. Blacktop Mojo comes from a small town in Texas where they grew up on a good dose of country music and cheap beer. Their second album 'Burn the Ships' is out now. It features their rising single "Where the Wind Blows" and their incredible cover of Aerosmith's "Dream On." We pick up this conversation kind of in the middle, so let's catch you up. Kaytie and myself backstage with the entire band, talking about the music industry, the band, and doing it all by yourselves. When you hear us say something about someone named Dimitri, that is their manager and someone I've known for a long time. This is a good quick look at one of rock's up and comers.

Johnny Stevens is the reclusive lead singer of the New York based, grammy nominated rock band, Highly Suspect. I've been trying to have this conversation with Johnny for the better part of a year. Their latest album is called The Boy Who Died Wolf and as it turns out the writing process as already begun on album number three. Art, Poetry, Acting and of course rock music is all covered in this intimate conversation with Johnny Stevens for Rockcast number 24.

Backstage at a one off show in Wisconsin, Kaytie sat down for a pre-show conversation with Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger from Halestorm. They talk about living and working in Nashville, playing with other Superstars, Lzzy's "Ask Lzzy" segments and much more.

Backstage at the rock festival Rock USA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin I sat down with Zacky Vengeance the guitarist from one of my all time favorite bands Avenged Sevenfold. Talk of the old school, talk of video games, and of course talk of Stage and their tour with Metallica.

DED is a metal / hard rock band from the Tempe / Phoenix, AZ area. The band's lead singer Joe Cotela and guitarist David Ludlow joined myself and Kaytie via phone to let us get inside their heads a bit. Their debut full length album Mis.an.Thrope will be out on July 21st and don't forget to check out the video for their song "Anti-Everything" which was directed by none other than Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst. The band Never Say Die features Dean and Brandon from My Darkest Days. You remember them right? They are the band that brought you the sexy dance anthem "Porn Star Dancing." They were in town to play a show and joined me live on air on Razor 94.7. They talked about the band, their past and performed one song acoustic. The entire band Stitched Up Heart stopped by the studio ahead of their Stitched Up House Party at some dude's house who won on the radio. Actually that party was a blast. This is an inside look at the band and what makes them tick, plus there's a lot of kitty and dick jokes.

The full band Hell or Highwater came by the studio to hang out with Kaytie and myself. We talked music, the business of records and plenty of jokes. The band was formed by Atreyu drummer/singer Brandon Saller. Their new album Vista is out and the song "I Want it All" is being played everywhere.
