The Toronto Blue Jays win the second game of the series against the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0. As yesterday was one of the most typical Blue Jays losses, this was a typical Blue Jays win, with stellar starting pitching and a mediocre offense that produces just enough to get by with a win. Yusei Kikuchi struggled with command at times in this start, working into some jams but working out of them just as fast. A huge positive from this game was the bullpen, pitching four scoreless innings to keep the Milwaukee Brewers off the board. This bullpen performance was led by Nate Pearson who struck out the side while allowing a hit, and Yimi Garcia who came in and was very effective in his four-out save. Spencer Horwitz continues to impress from the leadoff spot, generating another two hits and an RBI for an offense that needs runs desperately. Jose Berrios has a solid day, going five and two-thirds innings, and giving up three earned runs but got absolutely no help from this offense. You know there is a major problem with this offense when a guy the Blue Jays called up four days ago gets half of your team's hits and is also inserted into the second spot in the batting order. The Toronto Blue Jays walk off the Baltimore Orioles in the third game of the series 3-2. This was a huge win for the Blue Jays, as they now have a chance to split the series. Justin Turner hit a huge milestone today, getting his 1500th hit today, adding another accolade to a stellar career. He went 3-4 today, with a double and the single that would turn into the game-winning run. IKF continues to impress from the plate, gathering two hits, as well as two RBI and of course, the game-winning hit to put the Blue Jays on top. Jose Berrios continues to be one of the bright spots on this baseball team, having another quality start against a powerhouse offense in the Baltimore Orioles. Jose Berrios has now thrown for a quality start in eleven of his thirteen outings this season. The Toronto Blue Jays won a series against the Pittsburgh Pirates over the weekend. This series looked like two teams were battling it out, with very similar talent levels. This is not a comparison the Blue Jays would want to have, considering the direction of these two teams and that the Blue Jays did not even have to face the Pirates' top two pitchers Paul Skenes and Jared Jones. What a series from the Toronto Blue Jays. This team continues to find new ways to lose baseball games. Sunday was the worst game of the year for Blue Jays fans. They were out of the game, then Cavan Biggio hit a home run and the Blue Jays continued to hang around, until the 8th inning where they scored five runs, capped off by a Daulton Varsho 3-run home run. Just when you think they might pull the comeback off, Yimi Garcia and Jordan Romano do their best Adam Cimber impressions and throw the game. The Blue Jays scored 11 runs in the last game of the series, and they scored three runs total in the middle two games. Daulton Varsho made two rough plays this weekend, lacking communication with his outfielders and allowing the ball to drop on both plays, which cost the Blue Jays runs that would cost them in the long run.
