Highlander Rewatched

Time flies when you aren’t immortal! The Rewatchers wrap up their coverage of Season 4 by recapping the highlights and lowlights of the season, reading some absolutely bananas YouTube comments, and adding ratings to Seasons 1 and 2. Confusing Duncan for his murderous Roma friend Gelato (yum!), the Watchers start an all-out manhunt for Mac and Joe. Our heroes try to diffuse the situation with an entertaining mix of betrayal, yelling, and self-deception, which threatens to tear the MacLeod gang apart. The Rewatchers try to figure out the sudden brotherhood between immortals in this episode, mull over the appropriate punishment for Gelato (spoiler, he melts), and clean up their Miller Lite breath with “Methos: the fresh maker.”

The proverbial chickens come home to roost when the Watchers decide to punish Joe for his reckless fraternization with his subject, Duncan MacLeod, by locking him in a cartoon fun house and scheduling him for summary execution. Mac and Methos dust off their favorite reused clips of previous episodes in an effort to save Joe's life, while a mysterious rider in a Canadian Tuxedo goes on a Watcher assassination spree. The Rewatchers discuss Joe's sham trial in the poorly lit basement of Watcher HQ, whether Joe is trapped in a surprise bottle episode, and how this episode holds up as an unintentional Season 4 finale.

When Xavier St. Cloud's junior side kick, Morgan D'Estang, runs amok in Paris using Xavier's old tricks, the quickly forgotten gumshoe Renee Delaney comes out of the woodwork to harass/mac on Mac and catch the copycat. The Rewatchers try to figure out what look Xavier Jr. is going for, enjoy one of the most "delicious" Watcher Chronicles to date, and scratch their collective head at this title in search of an episode.

Feel the holiday spirit with this slightly inebriated blow-by-blow on the Highlander adjacent property, Christmas Crime Story, starring Adrian Paul. In this Christmas clunker, a seemingly disconnected crew of detestable characters finds that their lives are connected in unexpected ways--- most of which involve them killing each other, trying to kill each other, or indirectly causing a mall Santa to commit suicide. Yeah... it gets dark and confusing pretty quickly. The Rewatchers discuss Adrian Paul's performance as a hallucinating trust fund baby with a flare for photography, try to figure out whether the groan inducing shades-at-night dweeb is really a cop or a hit man, and gag as Keith forces them to try durian flavored wafers (barf).

Mac takes a break from mourning Alexa’s off-screen death to harass the grieving Methos into helping him track down his old war buddy Warren Cockring, a fanatical Scottish revolutionary with a dark secret that caused him to develop amnesia. The Rewatchers bemoan the repeated iterations of Bonnie Prince Charlie, consider making some ancient nut dishes, and delve into the world’s darkest Watcher Chronicle. 4-17 The Immortal Cimoli by Highlander Rewatched

Amanda finds herself in the crosshairs when both Methos and a gang of human goons set their sights on her cherished fragment of the Methuselah’s Stone. The Rewatchers try to crack the Watchers’ cat-based security system, get smashed on product placement at the Hennessy Hotel, and debate whether Methos (plot twist!) conspired to cross-off Amanda.

It’s Warmonger Part II: the Kassiming! After an unexpected reunion with a Pokémon master from his past (Gotta Kassim All!), Duncan finds himself in a totally self-inflicted moral conundrum when he has to make good on an ancient promise by assassinating a cartoon character/fake Libyan dictator. The Rewatchers debate the balance between honor and morality, giggle at Kassim’s icky beard, and unpack whether Kassim is a man of honor or a total a-hole.
