The holiday is over, we welcome you back with a Monday filled with winter weather. Joe Mathieu, Karen and Brendan are back from the long weekend to update you on everything you need to know to start the day. We have some traffic situations, school closings and more weather warnings coming your way. If you fell asleep early last night you were spared a tough loss for the Patriots. Welcome to Wednesday, or “Little Thanksgiving” as we’re now calling it. Karen is on edge because our studio has a little visitor this morning, and no, it’s not quite as cute as Baby Yoda. We begin with some sound from a friend of the program up in Newburyport, indicating winter is indeed on the way. A big night north of the border for a guy they call Pasta. And speaking of Thanksgiving, there’s apparently a “war” on it according to the President and his favorite news network… but we can’t seem to find evidence of it. Welcome to Tuesday, Joe Mathieu and the Early Edition crew can already smell that turkey and stuffing cooking. President Trump proves without a doubt that he’s not a dog person, but today he might be more of a Turkey guy. The Celtics walking wounded limped to a win last night. And a big news in Central Mass… the Worcester Red Sox nickname is officially the “WooSox”.

Good Monday Morning from Joe Mathieu and the WGBH Early Edition team. Crazy weather yesterday, a good day to stay in bed or spend it couch-locked. Crazy football fans braved the weather in Foxboro, and that weather made for some sloppy football. But sloppy play or not, we’ll always take the win. Gronk looks good on TV, but he’s getting some very mixed reviews for what comes out of his mouth. We’re getting you ready for a big holiday week with family and friends, enjoy it everyone!

The Patriots got the W in Philadelphia but the win didn’t provide the requisite amount of style points for some players and observers. We won’t take the Rob Gronkowski cheese this time. Our Christmas Tree Tracker shows that Boston’s tree, en route from Nova Scotia, has probably crossed into the U.S. Hang in there everyone, it’s Monday.
