Its Tournament Time on Forged in Fire, and this week we got 2 back to back episodes in the Battle of the Branches $50,000 Military Tournament! For the first episode, for smiths representing the Army compete to make V-42 Stilettos, and then the remaining two smiths had to recreate the US ARMY Officer Saber!  This one was very entertaining, with a great group of smiths and was a good kick off to the tournament! For this episode, our smiths were tasked with making Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knives. In the final round, the two remaining smiths had to recreate Genereal Yamashita's Gunto. For this episode, our smiths were Pinball Wizards! They had to salvage metal from a vintage pinball machine to make a knife. For this very special Living Room Edition wrap up we talk about Forged in Fire episode 100, where our 4 smiths got to pick from 99 different materials that has been options on the previous 99 episodes of the show! They made choppers, and put them to the test against special anvil shaped ice blocks and burning ropes! On top of this, there was a number of callback clips to previous episodes. The two finalists had to recreate the O-Katana, and they had to stand up to the bullet test, ballistics dummy kill test, and a bamboo slice cut test. For this episode, our 4 smiths had to recreate the Rough Rider Bowie. 3 of the smiths were outside parameters and had to go into Sudden Death Tests to see who went to Round 2. In round two, they had to add some badass coffin handles to their blades, and in round 3, the remaining smiths had to recreate Washington's Colichemarde. This was a standard but fun episode! This one is all about Knight Fight! The History Channel show that currently follows Forged in Fire. For this episode, 7 smiths, yes, 7 smiths showed up and competed on coal forges to make throwing knives. 1 was eliminated during inspection, the next during throwing knife testing. The remaining 5 smiths went home, built their best competition chopper and returned to the forge for testing. The remaining 4 smiths will be back next week to try and win $20,000! Chris, Theresa and Sean recently sat down to chat with Geoff Feder of Feder Knives, who is the co-host of Knife Talk Podcast. He makes knives, among other things, based out of Peekskill, NY.
