In this episode I sit down with Jessie Zevalkink. She has an incredible story outlining her experiences as a sailor. She literally grew up on the water. Sailing was a major part of her childhood as she took many trips on her father's boat with her family. This experience led her to purchase her own boat at the age of 23 years and sail The Great Loop for 2 years with one of her best friends. -- From there she spent her time working for sailing publications and participating in boat shows. Which led her to meet her now husband. Upon their engagement they made plans to precede their marriage with a trip across the Atlantic and back. Right now he is spending much of his energy photographing and filming outdoor sports. His recent work has been of surfers on Lake Michigan, skateboarders, as well as Mountain Bikers. In this episode I outline the benefit of 10 minute walks. This is something that I have seen modeled the last couple of years from some pretty prominent people in the fitness space. What I have loved about the idea of multiple 10 minute walks throughout the day is that it is a pretty simple addition to anyone's routine. I go on to explain why the benefits actually seem to be above the actual commitment required. If you're like me, then major changes to your day can be hard to get behind and remain consistent. The 10 minute walk should be pretty easy to transition into your schedule. -- Since implementing 10 minutes walks throughout my day (ideally in the morning, after lunch, and after dinner) I have felt so good! My energy levels are up, my clarity has noticeably improved, and I'm remaining productive throughout the day.
