  • Ep. 197: Raising Your Hiring IQ: 15 Best Practices

    08/04/2021 Duração: 19min

Between running a staffing firm, consultancy, and a realty company between the two of us, we’ve learned a thing or two about hiring the right (and wrong) support. For us. It’s never just about the obvious areas, but we’ve learned to ALSO prepare our own systems for bringing on help. This has impacted our marriage and business on the journey.  The more prepared we are on the front end, the easier the process will be. Even with the most proficient team member, without the right checklist, things can go downhill very fast. So, in episode #197, we’re talking about:

  • Ep. 196: The Hiring Mindset is a Profitable Mindset

    01/04/2021 Duração: 17min

When we share our delegation process with other marriedpreneurs, like clockwork, there’s one question that ALWAYS comes up. The question has to do with how to hire the right person and it usually goes back to is it worth it when it can be done in-house- i.e. by yourselves. Before we can even go into properly answering that predicament, the real issue of the MINDset must be addressed. Over the next several episodes we will be walking you through all kinds of liquid gold content as it pertains to hiring. But for today, on episode #196, we’re talking about:

  • Ep. 195: What you DON’T need to start a business

    25/03/2021 Duração: 22min

We have heard it all pretty much. Tons of reasons (excuses) aspiring marriedpreneurs don’t take the leap. It’s time to inform some and remind others, what actually ISN’T needed to start your business. To be clear, starting, sustaining, and scaling are all different phases. But we can’t reasonably address the last two without conquering the first. If you (or your spouse) have been on the fence about starting your first (or next) business venture, this is for you. Here are the other areas we’re covering in episode 195:

  • Ep. 194: Efficiency + Effectiveness Upgrade

    18/03/2021 Duração: 22min

According to Qualtrics, the world's leading insight platform,  People consistently overestimate their own productivity by 11 percent. Productivity is directly related to efficiency. I don’t believe a lack of momentum is only based on activity. Although it plays a large role, there are a few other often overlooked areas that can cap a couple’s business and personal growth as well.  The two ‘E’ twins are ‘Efficient’ and ‘Effective’. They go hand in hand when it comes to building a sustainable legacy as married entrepreneurs. So, here’s the thing, we may know HOW to get people results, but when it’s done in a way where more time and energy-draining than needed, our tool becomes dull. In fact, we actually box ourselves in a space of working harder instead of smarter.  Here are the other areas we’re covering in episode 194:

  • Ep. 193: Women’s History Month: Prov 31 Wifepreneur Edition

    10/03/2021 Duração: 28min

We’ve never dedicated an episode to Women’s History Month but what better time to shine a light on what we wife-preneurs aspire to be in our own way? We’ve likely heard tons of amazing stories already of women who have changed the world. But we’re going to come from a slightly different approach. One of the most prolific and often talked about women in scripture is one whose name isn’t mentioned, but her character and amazing works ARE. I want to share 7 beliefs of the Proverbs 31 women and what that may look like today. Today, many believe women can take the place of men, but this episode is showing how beautifully unique a woman is and HOW the proverbial wife-preneur of scripture shows up in the marketplace.  Here are the other areas we’re covering in episode 185:

  • Ep. 192: Mindset Mess Pt: 3 Circle of Maturity

    03/03/2021 Duração: 17min

“If you’re the smartest one in your circle, it’s time for a new circle.” Heard that one before? This episode is our final installment of the mindset mess series (for now) and we may step on a few toes...but it’s all in love. The truth is, we can’t address mindset messes without addressing our mindsets towards others. This particular episode wasn’t ‘planned’ in the way we plan others. We were laying in the bed one morning and sharing thoughts about how the culture promotes toxic (and unbiblical) behavior towards one another whenever differences arise. We had to do the responsible thing and expose some widely accepted practices in the marketplace especially. Here are some of the areas we’re covering in episode 192:

  • Ep. 191: Mindset Mess Pt 2: Faithless Focus

    25/02/2021 Duração: 23min

As kingdom-minded marriedpreneurs, we have a unique goal in the marketplace. The point of business is to be profitable, yes, but if we are not first faithful in how we steward people, our motives, and how we DO business, we will find ourselves losing our salt and light.  This misses the entire point.  The truth is, you can do the right thing, wrongly. We, as Kingdom citizens, must know what the distinction is without tainting our motives yet still being profitable. Over the years, we’ve invested upwards of $70K in coaching and personal development. We’ve learned a great deal but we want to share key principles that have course-corrected our path. Deception is subtle y’all.  Here are the other areas we’re covering in episode 191:

  • Ep. 190: Mindset Mess 1: Acclimated to Disorder

    18/02/2021 Duração: 20min

Mindset is the thing that can’t be seen but it’s powerful enough to keep us stagnant. This is why over the next 3 episodes we are addressing mindset messes that most sweep under the rug...not us.  This week is about the normalcy of disorder. Dysfunction at its core is disorder. It’s one thing to be aware of it. It’s another thing to become acclimated to it (and even fight to keep it). The thing about being acclimated to dysfunction is it is often rooted in deception. For example, if one has false expectations of how to go about pursuing 10 ideas (at once) then they will end up frustrated and burned out. This happens all too often with those who know God has called them to do multiple things, yet they feel like that means to pursue them all...now. We’re teaching a basic (yet powerful) process in this episode of the Marriedpreneur Life podcast. Here are the other areas we’re covering in episode 190:

  • Ep. 189: Disciplined Decisions

    11/02/2021 Duração: 19min

Have you ever made a decision to end an opportunity that ‘seemed’ good but at the time may not have been good FOR you (based on your overall goal)? Those can be some of the toughest destiny decisions to make at the moment, but your future self will always reap a harvest for your current sacrifice. Today, we are diving into what disciplined decisions represent and how to make them every time.  Here are the other areas we’re covering in episode 189

  • Ep. 188: 5 Automation Tools We’re Still Diggin’

    04/02/2021 Duração: 21min

Whether you’re preparing to launch with your spouse's support or if you guys have been in business for ages, we all know how critical efficiency is in business (and in life). Since Marriedpreneur Life is all about systemizing processes to be most productive, we know this episode will be a blessing to your soul.  Automation. Now, before we go on, you don’t have to be a super techy person to reap the benefits of even the slightest bit of automation. In this episode though, we are not only sharing about automation but we are also revealing 5 tools we use that support us through automation. We figured you’d be here for all of this goodness too!  :) Here’s what you’ll learn in episode 188:

  • Ep. 187: THE COURAGE TO DECIDE

    28/01/2021 Duração: 15min

We all are faced to make decisions every day. Some are more costly than others. However, we’re pretty sure that being decisive is a skill (whether you have it or not) it can be learned. However, depending on the situation, decisiveness is not 100% the best way to go. Discerning when and how to decisiveness is the key. Every day we are making legacy decisions. When we understand how often even the seemingly smaller decisions impact how we make larger ones, we think about it differently. This is exactly what we are diving into in Episode 187 so that we will all be more aware of how we make daily decisions. Here’s what we’re covering:

  • Ep. 186: Broken Belief Litmus

    21/01/2021 Duração: 35min

Have you ever felt like you were doing everything you KNEW to do (consistently) but for some reason, you still lack the results you’ve been expecting? This can be attributed to many things: lack of skills, poor positioning, ineffective messaging to name a few. However, the big elephant in the room is actually on the inside. It could be your belief system. Is it possible that your beliefs somewhere are broken so your efforts are capped? If so, episode 186 is a perfect resource for your journey this week. In fact, this entire Quarter we are tackling how we make our decisions. Even more importantly, WHY we make the decisions we make...whether it’s self-sabotage and analysis paralysis or any other reason, this episode will bring clarity and insight. Here’s what you’ll learn in episode 186:

  • Ep. 185: The 2021 Marriedpreneur Checklist

    14/01/2021 Duração: 21min

In the first episode of the year, we’re releasing a brand new opportunity to grow WITH you and your family throughout the year. We’re clearly committed to seeing you grow and position yourselves for an even greater impact this year. We’ve created an amazing resource that we WISH we had when we were launching out. We needed a map and mentors. So, we’ve got BOTH and we’re ready to trek with you all year. Your comprehensive Marriedpreneur Checklist for the year will be an excellent resource for married entrepreneurs who are wanting a simple way to streamline ideas, actions, and results all while keeping marriage as a priority. In addition to this, we share in this episode how this checklist can serve as a guide for the year and we share how we will be helping you two with accountability and insight to stay on moving forward all year long. (Yup, you heard right…) But there’s more!  Here are the other areas we’re covering in episode 185:

  • Ep. 184: THE 3 MUST-HAVE CALENDARS FOR MARRIEDPRENEURS FOR 2021

    10/12/2020 Duração: 27min

Sometimes we can feel that our passion for impacting others through our business is really all we need to make it happen. But efficiency and effectiveness require more. Building a legacy will always require a certain level of structure and order to get the desired results. A big part of this is understanding a few practical ways to track your progress and clarity. We are “obsessed” with implementing calendars that support our growth. Not just any kinds of calendars though. There are 3 to be exact that have (and are) literally changing how we do life together. We’re sharing it all in episode 184 of The Marriedpreneur Life podcast. Here’s what you’ll learn in episode 184:

  • Ep. 183: Don’t Let Disappointment Win

    03/12/2020 Duração: 19min

One of the biggest parts of business growth that very few talks about are the emotional rollercoaster that can come along with it. To be more specific, disappointments can be a blow to our momentum.  For example, when you do a launch in your business to promote your product/service, these things require an ‘all hands on deck’ kind of mood. So, when so much effort has been placed into a specific result, and you fall short of the target, that’s deflating.  But we’ve got some good news for you on this week’s episode of The Marriedpreneur Life podcast.  Here’s what you’ll learn in episode 183:

  • Ep. 182: Lifestyle Vs. Event

    26/11/2020 Duração: 26min

This time of year it’s really easy to think about what we are grateful for, which is a good thing! However, the downside is, the other days of the year don’t always get that level of intentional gratitude. This is not only helpful in being the best human possible, but it also plays a huge role in one’s level of execution throughout the year… let’s talk about it. Here’s what you’ll learn in episode 182:

  • Ep. 181: Pivoting in Degrees

    19/11/2020 Duração: 20min

This year has been known as the year of pivots. It’s a delicate balance of being aware of the changes going on in the world (and how it impacts your business) and being focused on your core mission.  Now, to be clear, not all pivots are the same, but they are necessary on this entrepreneurial journey. So, if you’ve been wondering what to do next or unsure of HOW to pivot, be encouraged. This week’s episode of the Marriedpreneur Life podcast is for you! Here’s what you’ll learn in episode 181 :

  • Ep. 180: How to Transition

    12/11/2020 Duração: 15min

We initially were going to call this how to transition from spousal-preneurs to couple-preneurs, but then we realized this insight will also be valuable in other areas of transition as well. Our transition into full-time ‘couple-preneurship’ was anything but smooth. We constantly found ourselves tripping over our own awkwardness while trying to find our voice and make a consistent profit.  There’s something that we wish we understood sooner that we want to share with you today. As we’ve looked back on those years, we can recall how important building the right bridges were BEFORE we needed to use them. In this episode, we’re taking you behind the scenes of what it really looked like starting with just an idea and transitioning into a full-fledged business...together. Here’s what you’ll learn in episode 180:

  • Ep. 179: 7 Reasons Your Spouse Hates Your Business

    05/11/2020 Duração: 31min

We don’t tell this story often, but we almost didn’t get married because the business became the focal point of our relationship. It took time, re-adjusting, and grace to finally ‘jump the broom’. There were subtle issues that kept coming up about the business that wasn’t addressed until they HAD to be. So, they simmered for a while before dealing with them. If we dealt with this in the early years pre-marriage then we can only imagine what kind of emotional tug-of-war is happening within marriages who are just confronting this messy side of business-building. We understand and we’re here to help! If you are a spousal-preneur, indie-preneur or couple-preneur who is dealing with strain in marriage (from the business especially) then this is for you. Here’s what we’re covering in episode 179:

  • Ep. 178: 2021 Starts Now

    29/10/2020 Duração: 25min

We know many had to pivot their plans this year and we realized that as a result, some feel as if they need to ‘wait to see’ what happens before making the next move.  In this week’s episode of the Marriedpreneur Life podcast, we are addressing this faulty mindset head-on! The beautiful thing about entrepreneurship is we get to create as we go. The beautiful thing about marriedpreneurship is we get to create TOGETHER as we build.  We’re diving into the many unspoken thoughts marriedpreneurs are facing right now concerning planning for the new year. Positioning yourself to win regardless of what’s going is key.  Here’s what you’ll learn in episode 178:
