100NO 301: These 5 Questions Will Make Or Break Your 2019
06/01/2019 Duração: 31minThis time of year is rife with people setting goals and new years resolutions, quickly failing and then moving back in to the same old same old life of comfort and mediocrity. What if, instead of just trying to set a goal, we asked ourselves some deep and meaningful questions and actually honestly answered them? What if then we set “goals” (such a boring word) around those answers rather than what we see other people doing on our social feeds. In this episode of 100 Not Out, Marcus asks himself, and you, these five questions and provides his own answers, whilst also inviting you to do the same. The Five Key Questions Q1: Are you loving where you live? Q2: Are you loving how you spend your 9-5? Q3: Are you loving your rituals? Morning / Evening / Weekends / Any others? Share mine Q4: Are you loving the way you move? Q5: Are you loving the people you surround yourself with? LINKS In question 4, Marcus referred to the MOVI Workspace Desk. In Question 5, Marcus referred to The Wellness Basecamp in Fremantle, Newc

100NO 300: 300 Not Out | The Anger Crisis
30/12/2018 Duração: 31minThe triple century is raised on 100 Not Out as we celebrate almost six years of podcasting. As 2019 is upon us we discuss the unsavoury topic of the increase in anger humanity seems to be experiencing and expressing. No longer is our laissez-faire “she’ll be right” “no worries” attitude dictating our behaviour. Instead, we are a country angrier than ever. From road rage to social media rage and the overexaggeration of “bad things” happening to “good people”, we discuss the challenge and great opportunity to improve the quality of our lives by improving the strength and resiliences of our emotional and mental muscles. Wishing you an incredible 2019 ahead and we thank you so much for being a part of 300 wonderful episodes. *** OUR BIG EVENT IN 2019 *** Is our 10-day 100 Not Out Longevity Experience on the Greek Island of Ikaria. 100NO 299: Jan Smith And Her World Record Attempt
23/12/2018 Duração: 24minJan Smith is aiming to become the oldest woman ever to climb the seven highest mountains on the seven continents of planet Earth. She climbed Everest on her 68th birthday, and has gone on to climb peaks in Russia, Antarctica, Papua New Guinea, South American and Africa, with only Alaska’s Mt Denali eluding her. Having made two attempts so far, Jan has suffered numerous setbacks in her bid to claim the record. A diabetes diagnosis and a severe case of the Buruli ulcer have thwarted her attempts to complete the 7 Peaks by the age of 70. However, if Jan can climb Denali on or before her 75th birthday on May 26, she’ll have climbed the 7 peaks in 7 years – a truly remarkable effort. *** APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR GREEK ISLAND LONGEVITY EXPERIENCE 2019 *** How does 10 days on the “island where people forget to die” sound in 2019? Returning for the third time, Damian and Marcus descend on Ikaria on September 4 for 10 days of the longevity lifestyle. Spaces are filling up to join them, with a maximum of 20 people only on

100NO 298: Mindfulness vs Awareness with Gary Douglas
16/12/2018 Duração: 29minThe concept of mindfulness has been around for 2500 years, but it is only recently that its popularity has sky-rocketed. These days, homes, schools, hospitals and workplaces around the world are filled with people purposefully and attentively living in the ‘present moment’. Now, here to kind of smash that glass and put all the pieces back together again in a more meaningful way is Gary Douglas … Gary is an internationally-recognized thought leader, bestselling author and founder of Access Consciousness®, a popular set of life-enhancing tools and philosophies. He celebrates the fact that more individuals are practicing mindfulness. However, he advises, there is a ‘next step’ in the journey toward living a more conscious life … and that is to learn the art of awareness. 100NO 295: The God Of Sight | Dr Sanduk Ruit Part One
25/11/2018 Duração: 41minHollywood actor Richard Gere calls him one of the world’s greatest living humanitarians The late Fred Hollows described him as a soul mate Fellow Eye Surgeons have called him the Steve Jobs of Opthalmology The people of Nepal simply call him The God Of Sight And the book by Australian journalist Ali Gripper profiling his life is called The Barefoot Surgeon Whatever label bestowed upon Nepal’s first ever Opthalmologist, words only go so far in portraying the remarkable impact Dr Sanduk Ruit has had and continues to have on humanity. He has personally restored sight to over 120,000 human beings – for our Australian listeners I want you to imagine a Melbourne Cricket Ground full of blind people, with 20,000 more waiting in line – all to be personally operated on by one man. 100NO 294: Why 84% of vegetarians and vegans return to meat
18/11/2018 Duração: 27minA study published in Psychology Today showed that 84% of vegetarians and vegans return to meat. The study showed a number of reasons why people return to meat, but also the motivation for giving it up in the first place are the topic of discussion on this episode. In the pursuit of ageing well, the 100 Not Out message is as much on HOW to eat as it is on WHAT to eat. We discuss how some people do “vegan well” whereas others are suffering from malnutrition, such is the poor quality of their diet. *** APPLICATIONS OPEN *** Our 2019 Longevity Experience to the Greek Island Blue Zone of Ikaria is now taking applications. 10 days of immersion on the island where people forget to die will be the highlight for 18 incredible people. 100NO 289: Seven Year Cycle On Health, Fertility, Ageing & Life
15/10/2018 Duração: 34minAccording to traditional Chinese medicine, the body progresses in cycles of seven years. The power of the seven year cycle is not exclusive to TCM, with astrology, traditional apprenticeships and many more areas of life controlled by the “power of seven”. In this episode we discuss the importance of the passing of time, whether it be for the attainment of healthy, empowered ageing, or whatever it is you want in life. 100NO 288: Why Women’s Health Gets More Coverage Than Men’s Health
07/10/2018 Duração: 26minDamian has just hosted an evening for men to discuss the stress response, mental health and how to reduce the impact that chronic stress can have on us. It raises interesting topics on health – More men die from prostate cancer than women do of breast cancer More men are diagnosed with prostate cancer than women are with breast cancer Suicide is more prevalent amongst men than women Why do women’s health topics get more coverage and awareness than mens? Marcus thinks the answer is pretty simple. An insightful episode on topics that are in the news at the moment. Damo is raising money for the Polished Man campaign, where he is wearing painted fingernails as part of raising awareness for childhood death (1 child dies every 5 minutes as a result of violence). 100NO 287: Needles In Strawberries, Poor Food Choices & ARFAD
30/09/2018 Duração: 22minThe strawberry scandal has the possibility for a ripple effect that could be disastrous for the health of Australians. Marcus still holds the romantic notion that more farmers markets would prevent such a scandal, and Damian discusses just how poor some people’s diets might become as a result of fearing the purchase of fresh food. 100NO 285: Dissecting Prof David Sinclair’s Fight Against Ageing
16/09/2018 Duração: 23minDavid Sinclair is as dedicated to the fight against ageing as we are to the graceful ageing movement. On this episode we discuss the different approaches western medicine and biotech companies are taking to the fight against ageing, compared to the approach we speak about on this podcast. As we outline a number of times on this podcast, this is not a personal attack on Prof Sinclair or anyone with a more medical philosophy on ageing. It’s intended to be a conversation starter and eye-opener on just how wide and varied humanity’s beliefs are on how to help humanity make the rest of their life the best of their life. Click here to watch the one-minute video featuring Prof David Sinclair and their latest strategies to fight ageing. Click here to watch the Power of 10 video Damian refers to in this episode. 100NO 284: 86 and thriving | Smashing the ageing stereotype with David Dobson
09/09/2018 Duração: 24minDavid Dobson is not your average 86 year old. Recommended to us by BestMe Radio host, Carl Hammington, David Dobson is fit, active, sharp and inspired at 86 years young. When most people expect to be sitting in a chair, and likely in a nursing home, Dobson can be found training with Carl five days per week, travelling the world, working on projects and charitable causes that inspire him and essentially doing as he pleases. Now isn’t that what the 100 Not Out lifestyle is all about?! The post 100NO 284: 86 and thriving | Smashing the ageing stereotype with David Dobson appeared first on The Wellness Couch.

100NO 283: Damo’s Bad Advice | Wellness Summit Recap | The Passage Of Time
02/09/2018 Duração: 24minWith the 2018 Wellness Summit now behind us, Marcus & Damo reflect on their experiences from Summit #6. Damo had a number of 1:1 exchanges with attendees and shares some powerful, funny and touching moments – particularly of an attendee who saw Damo over 20 years ago and received some questionable advice (to which Damo sincerely apologised for!) We discuss the power of coming together in real life and bringing listeners, new wellness fans and the podcasters all together for one magical weekend. The power of the passage of time, as brought up by Marcus at The Wellness Summit, also gets a mention, as well as the importance of not blanket agreeing with everything everyone says (and cultivating the art of independent thought). Check out the hashtag #thewellnesssummit to see what we got up, or go to The Wellness Couch on Instagram and Facebook for a full wrap.
