After being missing for a month, KayTheRebel returned with an insightful episode. This week she talked about all of the things that her mother taught her growing up and how it showed up in her adult life. She also talked about lessons she wish she had learned such as vetting men properly, managing her emotions and how to embrace femininity. At the end of the episode, she challenged her listeners to think about things they wish someone had taught them.

This week KayTheRebel records an episode that was pitched by a faithful listener. She discussed her first-hand experience with staying too long in a relationship that no longer served her. How most of the times we stay in relationships longer than we should when mistreated because we don't always see a way out. People stay for children, fear or even finances. She encouraged everyone to leave unhealthy relationships. #GetOut #Find YourHappy

This week KayTheRebel takes the time to reflect on her first year as a single women. She discussed the highs, the lows and still felt it was a positive year even with disappointments and annoyances. She shared stories to support why she has non-negotiables about being courted and how she became a professional ghoster. The episode ended with her giving solid advice and a new perspective for other single ladies.

As a follow up to Fathers Pt. 1, KayTheRebel also pens an open letter to the two fathers of her children.

KayTheRebel drops her first episode of the new year after a short hiatus. It is an open letter to her father based off of an assignment during one of her therapy sessions.

This week KayTheRebel gets in her feelings and expresses how she feels about love songs and the emotions that come along with them. She played a few tracks and used them as a way to express her thoughts on love and her admiration for people who fall in love fearlessly. While having flashbacks of a wedding she attended not too long ago, she came to terms with the fact that she will probably never love fearlessly and how she has to learn how to be vulnerable again from scratch.

This episode started off with bloopers & drunk auntie laughs. Months ago, KayTheRebel talked about anxiety and how it shows up in her life. This week her best friend @WittyEmpresss918 joined her to discuss how anxiety also can be triggered in our friendships. Sometimes friends don't show up as they should and we feel abandoned. Some friends are seasonal. Some of our friendships lack transparency & consistency.

This week Kay The Rebel talked about a few different things. First, she addressed how not all family is family and can be considered the opps too. She talked about those who live in glass houses and throw stones. There was a moment of accountability and she voiced her perspective on people choosing wisely when procreating with others. Have you ever had someone hate on you just for living your life authentically? The episode ended with a poem about love from @MikeThePoet

This week KayTheRebel hit yall with a dual topic. First she discussed ghosting in friendships and how she does not always respect it. In certain instances it is cowardly and fake af. Next, she went on a mini rant about dating and men who intentionally show up with the bare minimum with new prospects. However, they were in long term relationships with women who brought nothing to the table. These same men usually judge women for dating "bums". Pot meets kettle!!!

This week KayTheRebel felt like it was time for another venting session. She brought on her bestie @WittyEmpress918 to add a different perspective to her thoughts/opinions. Her first area of concern was discovering that men hate on women just as hard as females. Do "big mouth" black women have a lower chance of snagging a high value man? Why are folks coming for Jeanie Mai after announcing her pregnancy? Are you really being private or just saving face in your relationship? Why do couples have multiple babies back2back and act surprised when turbulence follows?

This week KayTheRebel gave a review on Netflix's new film release titled "Really Love". [Spoiler Alert] She discussed the timeline of Isaiah and Stevie's relationship; both the ups and downs. Their relationship gave her the opportunity to reflect on finances in a relationship. Should we chase our careers first and love last or vice versa? Is it always a better option to put your partner's wants/needs before yours? Overall, she felt it was a great film capturing black love without the struggle.

This week KayTheRebel decides to set the record straight surrounding the constant bashing and unpopular opinions of modern women. She talked about their power to choose and how their opportunities are limitless. They should NEVER be compared to traditional women. Throughout the episode, she stressed that the common phrase "I don't need a man" is not an attack against black men and simply a badge of honor that we have earned. We don't need to be defined by our relationship status and modern women are going to live their lives with or without a man....periodt!!!

For a second week in a row, KayTheRebel brings on a guest to aid her in continuing the King's Perspective segment. Mitchell, a black man who loves both his career and his woman approached the mic and kept it real about his strengths and weaknesses. He talked about his growth and how his mistakes were some of his biggest lessons in life. He was honest about his level of accountability and how he is constantly working towards being the best version of himself. Throughout the episode, Mitchell portrayed himself as a man who does not walk by fear and instead faith which is how he is able to live his authentic self. He believes the best way to protect black women is to be with one!!!

This week KayTheRebel is joined by her bestie Natasha aka @WittyEmpress918 who posed a question "Should you be responsible for your partner's mental health"? Both ladies agreed that they feel you should be partially responsible for paying attention and/or addressing mental health concerns with your partner. Couples therapy was also on the discussion table and they felt that it was healthy for couples to seek help from a 3rd party when things get too rough. Witty Empress ended the episode giving tips on how you can balance your own personal mental health as well as your partner's.

This week KayTheRebel was super vulnerable and decided to record a sequel to a episode 22 from 3 years ago when she spoke in depth about her experience with therapy. She returned to therapy this year and did a comparison to how far she has come. It was tough to admit, but she came to terms with the fact that when she attended therapy last time, she acknowledged her flaws but did NOT do the work. Currently she is working on self-improvement with no days off and dropped a ton of gems to share with those who are also growing & healing. Emotions were super high!!!

This week KayTheRebel approaches the mic with guns blazing and ready to take down any and all folks who have ever formed an opinion or have spoken ill of single mothers. You don't know their stories or their struggles was one of her continuous arguments. As a single mother of two children, she refuses to sit back and watch anyone defame or degrade single mothers.

This week KayTheRebel felt it was time to purge again. She started with her views on Sha'Carri Richardson and how she doesn't agree with the boycott (baby girl needs to be accountable). Next, she weighed in on Erica & Safaree's pending divorce and relationships which include emotional negligence. Do you like your in-laws? Cool, because KayTheRebel hates them (especially sisters). She was over Quavo being a bitter ex and said in the world of dating she will always choose character over money. The episode ended with her explaining how self-love is what has led her to a state of peace.

This week KayTheRebel gives some advice regarding friendships. Throughout the episode she shares a story of someone who wanted to know if they should try to "fix" their friendship or just ghost their bestie and walk away from it all. She stressed the point of friendship feeling more like a sisterhood more than anything. That it is suppose to add value to your life and not subtract from it. Pressure or stress should not be included!!!

KayTheRebel continues her new segment and brings one of her favs out from the podcasting community out of retirement. "Darnell" from Talking Greasy lived in his truth and admitted that he has struggled with setting boundaries in life. He discussed how as a black man he has "no choice" but to manage his emotions at all times and his experience with being a relationship with a female who was a narcissist. This year, he finally gave himself permission to celebrate his wins in life.

This week KayTheRebel begins a new segment where she will sit down with black men and take the opportunity to both learn and understand how men think and/or feel about certain aspects of life. She uses Mac The Therapist's list of 13 things he encourages black men to do more of. The segment starts with a returning guest, El-Amin who has also been featured on the Black Owned Everything segment. He let his guard down and talked about his experience with setting boundaries and how he strives to be accountable every day. He also shared how stress channels his creative sense and how if he had one area of improvement, it would be to have a bigger heart and to do more for others. Blessings to this King!!!
