One Hand Speaks

Once in Tibet at a large Buddhist gathering at one of the Sakya Monasteries I made a connection with a local lady. She wore a very beautiful mask. We noticed one another. We only had non-verbal communication and it was for a very short time. But I have never forgotten the girl in the mask.  

This short podcast is really about my one handed contemplations regarding how much my right arm has been hurting me.

"You never complain," was what my mother said to me. It was her body language that expressed so much more.

Yes it is true. I almost cut my hand off. I was not paying enough attention while using and holding a very shape knife. I just remember hearing a unique sound. A sound I would later realize was the sound of a knife cutting through human flesh.

When I was very young I always admired my father's wrist watch.

Despite being one of the craziest and most bizarre years of my life 2020 had a number of bright spots.

When I was in my late teens and early twenties I knew my spine would be affected by the unevenly developed muscles on each side of my upper body.

It is true. I bit my middle fingernail off. Not in the way you might imagine. Not all at once in some crazed fervor of self torture by a temporarily insane one handed man. No no... this was a bit more long and drawn out. This is the result of a bad habit.

This is a story about cheating. When I was younger I often engaged in the act of cheating.

Life with one hand is certainly a rollercoaster of experiences and emotions. When I was younger I had many extremely ugly experiences feeling the discrimination of others.

One not-so-great quality to the going-online global pandemic situation is there are now way too much stuff to be a part of and attend online.

This is just a funny and martially humorous story that happened to me while I was on a medical mission in Tibet in 2017.

My early love of military and the armed forces has led to many a great one handed experiences.

WTF!?

Often people I meet ask me what happened to my hand. These interactions have a flavor all on their own. It is a more detailed and refined view of other people's perception of why I am the way I am.

Some one handed moments changed my life in beneficially profound ways. Others are hard to forget because they had such a horrific negative impact on my life. Some are just funny and enjoyable.

POTUS got the 'Rona!!!

What would you do? What would Buddha do? What would Jesus do? What would anyone do is the question?

I want to ride my bicycle... Enough said!
