One Hand Speaks

All the things we do not know about how and why we interact with the internet and social media are the things we should know.

It is the day-to-day moments that can truly make having one hand enjoyable. Especially around Halloween and when children are present.

I often tell people there is not a day that goes by when I am in public and I do not get some kind of interaction with children because of my one handedness.

I believe miracles happen everyday. Big miracles and little miracles. One reaction I get when children see me or someone like me for the first time is sadness. Time to activate miracle powers!

I am always hoping when I hear the phrase, "we're looking for a one armed guy," it does not mean what it meant the last time I heard it. I want it to be asked by the film crew of Star Wars because they need extras as Jedi Knights in the next movie.

Traveling If you were ever going to take advice about how to ride a bicycle one handed, it would be wise to listen to that advice from a one handed bicyclist. I have had too many friends and met too many people with chipped teeth do to riding a bicycle one handed.

My prosthetic arm does not fit properly anymore.

This is all about being an artist that makes music.

When I was a child I did not truly understand what it meant to have one hand in a two handed world. One of my early dreams was to play the Saxophone. As much as I expressed my want and desire to play the Saxophone my parents signed me up for Trumpet lessons.

I will be getting a new bicycle "hand." that does sound kinda odd?

MASK UP people!!

"I never considered that?" This is a phrase I have often heard through out my life.

I am a one handed Theremin player.

It looks as if I will be getting a new arm! Not just anyone one can say that.

I have some pretty cool one-handed experiences in the grocery store check out line.

"Can you give me a ride?" As odd as this may sound I do get asked this question more than you would think.

This is a personal contemplation about the life long costs of buying prosthetic arms and my my perception of those costs. I am mostly referring to my parents and how they were able to buy my artificial arms.

Here is part #2 of my story for this week. This half is more about my excitement in getting my old prosthetic arm upgraded and potentially about getting a brand new arm. I kinda feel like a young boy about to get a new toy.

Three years deep and still going strong! This is my 3rd Anniversary celebration podcast. It was May 19, 2017 that my first podcast hit the airways. I have been putting out a podcast a week for the past three years and have truly enjoyed myself while sharing my stories (mostly) about my one handed life. I have also learned many things about who I am and how I share my life. Additionally, I hope you, the listener, have enjoyed, learned, and laughed along the way. For this podcast I am going to keep it simple and kind of short with a story in there about a recent interaction with a 5 year-old and her family I recently met at the park. I will also share some of my visions for where I will be taking the One Hand Speaks Storytelling Podcast. Changes in the production, the stories, and the direction of my one handed podcast. I have destroyed countless Zip Fly buttons on my blue jeans over the span of my one handed life. Those are the buttons at the top of jeans that keep the fly fastened. It took a moment of contemplation just before standing in front of a toilet to realize an interesting truth about my one handed life.
