One Hand Speaks

It was 106 degrees here in Boise, Idaho on July 6, 2021.

One of the benefits of isolation due to the pandemic was a more-than-appropriate amount binge watching science fiction. And I do mean a lot.

Born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico my mother would tell us stories of her childhood eating grasshopper tacos. We found a connection here in Idaho and now I eat grasshoppers!

Living in Seattle in the mid 1990 was incredible. The Grunge Music scene and the bicycle life style crossed in a very cool way.

A common question asked to people is, "if you could change anything about your body what would that be?" This is a question I get asked not so often. I think people are concerned they might offend me.

For as long as I can remember I have always been a fan of belt buckles. The funny thing is putting on a bely buckle with one hand can be a bit more challenging than one would thing. Who would have thought belt buckles and one handedness had a a funky quirky relationship?

Not much I can do when you pass to my left side. Such a weird and true occurrence in my life. Though I must say it does not happen too often.

This week I am going to break down the movements that cause a lot of pain in my arm regarding my Tennis Elbow. It is very simple and straight forward. Three words... Life. Pull. Squeeze. 

I have not said much these past few months regarding my extreme tennis elbow. Of course, having just the one hand does not give my arm time to rest as I have to do everything with this one hand.

One late night in my apartment upstairs after all my classes were taught I was sitting very still. It was then I noticed a mouse casually walking across my living room into the kitchen.

This past week a friend from my childhood asked me if I would podcast on why I am a Buddhist. So I did.

Once, after a late night movie, I came around the corner of a street walking to my car. I noticed two people noticing me as I approached. Then one of them said, "I would know that silhouette anywhere!"

One of the first jobs I had in Seattle, Washington at a group home for mentally disabled people. I created a very special bond with the residents during my short employment that left a life-long lasting impression on me.

Today I had to get a Covid-19 test. It is an interesting process to actually get set up for the test. It is also a unique process trying to decide in my head to get a test.
