New to DVD this week are two rarely seen TV series including Gene Roddenberry's THE LIEUTENANT (1964) and THE HEATHCLIFF and DINGBAT SHOW (1980), two 50's Baseball flicks including BIG LEAGUER (1953) with Edward G. Robinson and THE GREAT AMERICAN PASTIME (1956) with Ann Miller and Anne Francis, two Early talkies including SCARLET PAGES (1930) and DANCING SWEETIES (1930), and four fan favorites including BARCELONA (1994), THE BOY WHO COULD FLY (1986), LOVE AFFAIR (1994) and THE VALLEY OF GWANGI (1969) all back in print.

Presenting six examples of Time Twisted cinema from the '60s and '70s including Ken Russell's infamous LISZTOMANIA (1975), George Cukor's modern 'women's picture,' THE CHAPMAN REPORT (1962), Richard Benjamin in PORTNOY'S COMPLAINT (1972), The Dave Clark 5 in HAVING A WILD WEEKEND (1965), William Conrad's production of A COVENANT WITH DEATH (1967) and a non-ironic THE COOL ONES (1967). Then the Warner Archive Collection team tackles three Rod Taylor films, including spy-spoof THE LIQUIDATOR (1965), Jack Cardiff and John Ford's YOUNG CASSIDY (1965), and the swashbuckling SEVEN SEAS TO CALAIS (1962). The team wraps it up with two re-listed titles, Sondheim's THE LAST OF SHEILA (1973) and Paul Newman starring in THE LIFE AND TIMES OF JUDGE ROY BEAN (1972).

The Warner Archive Collection staff present a six-pack of Italian produced sixties selections that will have you screaming, Toga! (Or in one case, Turban!) Films include Steve Reeves in THE SLAVE (1962) and SANDOKAN THE GREAT (1963), a triple team-up with HERCULES, SAMSON, AND ULYSSES (1964), Victor Mature and Orson Welles in THE TARTARS (1961), the Pythagorean tale of DAMON AND PYTHIAS (1962) and engineering action in GOLD FOR THE CAESARS (1963).

The Warner Archive Collection staff reflect upon the Gallant Men (1963), the Kirby Grant and Chinook Adventure Triple Features, five more films including, Big Shots (1988), The Doctor and The Girl (1949), Cool Breeze (1972), Brass Target (1978) and John Paul Jones (1959). Finally, we have Christmas in July featuring both a Rankin Bass and Hanna Barbera Christmas Collection along with the animated Heidi's Song (1982).

Then they talk about two from Nelson and Eddy - Maytime (1937) and Rose Marie (1936) and end with the DVD debut of TV's Harry O - Season 1 (1974) starring David Janssen.

The Warner Archive Collection staff chat about five new releases including 1958's reunion of Deborah Kerr and Yul Brynner in The Journey, Anita Ekberg lights up 1956's Back From Eternity, John Mack Brown rides into 1930's Billy The Kid, then transforms into Johnny Mack Brown for the Monogram Cowboy Collection Volume 3 (1943 - 1950) and finishing off with the complete collection of Crime Does Not Pay shorts from 1935 - 1947.
