Ann Jillian discusses highlights from her days shooting GYPSY and her experiences working with Rosalind Russell, Natalie Wood and director, Mervyn LeRoy. GYPSY is now available on Blu-ray from Warner Archive.

Prehistoric families, mysteries from the 1930s and cowboys ranging from Monogram to modern dominate this week's new DVD releases. THE MONOGRAM COWBOY COLLECTION, VOLUME FOUR collects nine B-Westerns together starring Johnny Mack Brown and Jimmy Wakely. We then discuss three TNT 90s westerns including THE AVENGING ANGEL (1995) with Tom Berenger, TWO FOR TEXAS (1998) with Kris Kristofferson and DOLLAR FOR THE DEAD (1998) with Emilio Estevez. We follow that up with five classic mysteries: THE UNGUARDED HOUR (1936), THE WHITE COCKATOO (1935), SHADOW OF DOUBT (1935), MOONLIGHT MURDER (1936) and a more comedic THE GOLDEN FLEECING (1940). We close out with a tribute to KORG - 70,000 BC: THE COMPLETE SERIES (1974-75) about the lives of a family of Neanderthals.

We chat about 15 new DVD releases, including three starring Robert Mitchum including ONE SHOE MAKES IT MURDER (1982), PROMISES TO KEEP (1985) and MY FORBIDDEN PAST (1951). Then we move on to four un-teamed MacDonald and Eddy motion pictures including THE CHOCOLATE SOLDIER (1941), CAIRO (1942), THREE DARING DAUGHTERS (1948) and THE SUN COMES UP (1948) co-starring Lassie! After that we check out five overlooked films from the 60s including BLACK GOLD (1962), THE CASTILIAN (1963), COAST OF SKELETONS (1964) and Sidney Lumet's THE SEA GULL (1968) followed by two from the 70s which include the neo-noir IMPULSE (1990) and SECOND BEST (1994) starring William Hurt. Finally, we wrap up with a discussion about the complete fifth season of WITHOUT A TRACE (2006).

The Bowery Boys are Back! We chat about our new 12 film set, The Bowery Boys Volume One starring Huntz Hall and Leo Gorcey. We also talk about The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show - The Complete Animated Series made by the same team that presided over the beloved primetime Peanuts specials, Bill Melendez, Lee Mendelson and Charles Schulz. We finish up by announcing our first Blu-ray Disc of the film, Deathtrap (1982) with Christopher Reeve and Michael Caine.

Then we move on to three mini-series from the '80s including WORLD WAR III (1982), DRESS GRAY (1986) with Alec Baldwin and DREAM WEST (1986) starring Richard Chamberlain. Next we discuss four TNT TV Movie westerns: THE CISCO KID (1994) starring Jimmy Smits as Cisco and Cheech Marin as Pancho, THE GOOD OLD BOYS (1995) with Tommy Lee Jones directing and starring, RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE (1995) with Ed Harris and THE VIRGINIAN (2000), directed by and starring Bill Pullman. We round up the podcast with the beloved series, EIGHT IS ENOUGH: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (1977).

We discuss ten new DVD releases this week, including BUGS BUNNY SUPERSTAR (1975), two new collections of early sound Vitaphone shorts - VITAPHONE VARIETIES: VOLUME TWO (1927-31) and THE VITAPHONE COMEDY COLLECTION VOL. 1 - ROSCOE 'FATTY' ARBUCKLE/SHEMP HOWARD (1932-34). New to DVD this week are six films starring icons Humphrey Bogart and Jimmy Cagney. BATTLE CIRCUS (1953) places Bogey inside a MASH unit during the Korean police action, THE CROWD ROARS (1932) put Cagney behind the wheel of a racecar, while CHINA CLIPPER (1936) puts Bogey behind the wheel of a transpacific airliner. THE GREAT O'MALLEY (1936) sees Bogey behind the eight ball due to Pat O'Brien's overzealous cop and KING OF THE UNDERWORLD (1939) sees Bogey dragging Kay Francis down to his level, while THESE WILDER YEARS (1956) puts seasoned vets James Cagney and Barbara Stanwyck against one another. We turn to the wide world of TV for the next 5 releases, including Ray Bradbury's THE HALLOWEEN TREE (1993) - narrated by the October man himself! Then we have three made-for-TV classics, THE SKY'S NO LIMIT (1984) with Anne Archer, Sharon Gless and Dee Wallace, PROMISE (1986) with James Garner and James Woods, and a truly all-star cast in VICTORY AT ENTEBBE (1977). New to DVD this week are five film noir selections from 1949 to 1952 that reflect a different shade of black. BORN TO BE BAD (1950) features a never-before-seen alternate ending. A WOMAN'S SECRET (1949) was written by Citizen Kane co-scribe, Herman J. Mankiewicz. SOUTHSIDE 1-1000 (1950) charts the evils of counterfeiting. WALK SOFTLY, STRANGER (1950) reunites The Third Man co-stars, Joseph Cotten and Alida Valli. Finally, THE LAS VEGAS STORY (1952) features Jane Russell, Vincent Price and Victor Mature.
