The long awaited Home Brew episode of Uncast is here! We join Tony and The DaHonays (not a new 50’s rock group) at the Lands End Resort in Oceanside, CA. We go through TEN different home brews this evening and learn the basics of home brewing from Tony and Andrew. Learn how to get started brewing at home, adding various flavors into your beer and what goes into making a Sour Ale. Butch joins us this week and we discuss everything from Game of Thrones to beer to music, music and more music. There's more nostalgia than you can shake a ring pop at and we bring back "Ask A Black Dude" just for the fun of it.

Listen to the men talk about steak, boobs and the pointlessness of paying $30 in a restaurant for a steak you grill yourelf. We decided our local liquor store needs to install a tasting room in the back kind of like Bottlecraft. Once we realized this wouldn’t work, we came up with a much better idea: Drinkstarter. After a sarcastic tweet from Butch’s s/o we have to ask each other, do you drink more when your significant other is away. This leads into relationship talk, focusing mostly on Butch because that’s more fun. Naturally this then leads into us discussing being the last analog generation. We end this part with discussions of how culture and what we find attractive in women has changed as we’ve grown up.

We start the show off with both of us drunk to the nines. Victoria went to Italy (Milano, Firenze, Roma & Torino) and describes all the sights and sounds but mostly the smells and tastes. Rome isn’t built up, it’s built out; like Los Angeles...or Cass Elliot who is a little less built out now. We start out with a very tasty Italian beer that Vivi brought home. Daniel is ungrateful. We move on to a decent dinner at Slaters 50/50 and Hamilton’s Tavern which had an awesome Stone takeover night going. Less than ten minutes in and Vivi is almost gone. Daniel discusses shit he dealt with while Victoria was gone. There was the negatives (Ottawa drama, incessant Cinnamon, depression) and the positives (Urbn Coal-Fired Pizza, Mother Earth Brewing, Brochella, Distiller’s Outlet in Poway). Vivi tunes him out and Daniel gets butt-hurt and this brings out the Drunk Cosbies and the end of Part One. We come back and start off our last hour of the show by drinking more beer. Let the first part of the First Annual Brochella commence. We have burgers and beer, steak and whiskey, muscle cars and boobs, and still have time to work in a romantic comedy. Butch and Tony join me in a night filled with mostly good beer and great conversation. Sit down, give us an hour of your time and we’ll make you think, we’ll make you laugh, hell we might even make you cry. Future parts of this recording will show up in the coming weeks.

On March 22, 2013 at Casa de Uncast, we held a Celebratory event in honor of our dear friend and host, Rhian. The start and finish of the audio file has been edited to fit the Uncast format and showcase the Whore News intro she created for Uncast and was so proud of. She brought a lot to the show but she brought so much more to our lives. We will never be the same.

How Uncast Got It’s Swagger Back. Coronado Hoppy Daze helps and apparently so does the topic of this week’s show title. We discuss some preparations for the weekend of Rhian’s Grand Celebration of Life and of course Universary VI. Victoria has a few (and by that I mean a LOT) of Lord of the Ring questions. We discuss bad TV shows and good websites, including an upcoming one that includes us reviewing burgers and breweries. Should be fun! Speaking of fun, baseball is about to start as Spring Training is under way. Daniel is super excited and Vivi is sorta kinda (less than she claims) excited. It’s been over a month but we’re back! We remember Rhian and discuss a most unenjoyable beer of the week. Victoria brings up otter rape and dating sites. Somehow these things go together. IDK, you tell me. Of course, it’s Oscars time and we discuss some of Victoria’s favorite movies of the year. It’s a short show this week but we’ll get back on track next week with a few more things to discuss.
