Resurrecting Faith-Treating others after they have sinned - Audio
16/05/2021 Duração: 36minHey family, throughout this series called Resurrecting Faith, we’ve been talking about how God responds to us when we sin. And not only how he responds, but how his word leads us to repent as well. But this week we’re going to look at how to respond to one another when we’ve blown it—when we’ve failed to live up to even our own standards, let alone God’s. How do we help to restore each other? I look forward to seeing you at 10 am Sunday at 360 Schermerhorn. We are definitely seeing many people return now that so many have been fully vaccinated! We continue with our efforts to keep our worship space clean and to check temperatures and provide sanitizer and masks to those who need them. Kids’ Church is also live at 360 Schermerhorn on Sundays, in their kids-only, brand-new classroom! If you can’t make our live service, there will be a preview online Saturday at 6 p.m. via Facebook Live (RHOW-BK page) and on Zoom, 472 778 7718, password 0825. Kids’

I look forward to seeing you at 10 am Sunday at 360 Schermerhorn. We are definitely seeing many people return now that so many have been fully vaccinated. Resurrecting Faith-Can I be Forgiven - Audio
02/05/2021 Duração: 45minHey family, at some point or other all of us have experienced the crippling shame and guilt we feel after knowing what’s best to be done--and ignoring it completely. Some of the greatest scars that I personally have, and that I know others have, are when they knew better and they did wrong anyway. This week we’re going to dive deeper into those moments in life where we’ve done what we knew we shouldn’t have done, and avoided what we knew we could have done. What does it mean to run to the Lord after the guilty verdict is in, and after the shame is heavy? Please join us for our second week of studying Psalm 51—and extend an invitation to your friends. Every one of us has to deal with guilt, shame, and struggles. I look forward to seeing you at 10 am Sunday at 360 Schermerhorn. PLEASE NOTE—After service we will hold one of our twice-annual congregational meetings. This is a great time to catch up on where we are now as a church and where we’re going. If you can&

Resurrecting Faith-How to talk to God - Audio
25/04/2021 Duração: 41minHey family, as you know we’ve begun a new series called Resurrecting Faith. We’ve been trying to address what happens in our lives after we’ve messed up. After we’ve gone to the place we said we were never gonna go, after we did the thing we said we would never do, after we hung out with people we said we’d never see again—how do we respond? We talked about what happens on the morning after--what to *know* about our response to God and what to *do*. This Sunday we’re going to learn how to talk to God after we’ve blown it. You don’t want to miss it. We’ll see you at our live service at 10 a.m., and please invite a friend. Let them know we are taking temperatures, sanitizing our space, socially distancing and everything else to create a safe, healthy environment. Kids’ Church is open as well! PS, please note for your calendar—We will be having one of our twice-annual congregational meetings after service on Sunday, May 2. Th

Resurrecting Faith - Audio
18/04/2021 Duração: 34minHey family, last week we talked about how we've all been in that "morning-after" place--the time after we've sinned, when we're feeling that God cannot forgive us. We looked at Micah 7:7-9 and talked about being brokenhearted and yet how we can be bold and come before the Lord. This week we'll talk about practical applications. Until I see you Sunday at 10 a.m., I hope you will read these verses in Micah and ponder them in your heart. Remember, we've hired a professional cleaning firm to sanitize the sanctuary and other spaces before Sunday service, and we continue to take temperatures, require masks, etc., in order to keep everyone healthy. For those who are not ready to return to our live services, there will be a preview of the message on Saturday at 6 pm on the RHOW-Brooklyn Facebook page and also on Zoom, 472 778 7718, password 0825. RHOW Kids' Church is also open for ages 5-11, but

Resurrecting Faith-Coming Back to Life - Audio
11/04/2021 Duração: 33minHey family, I’m so grateful that many of you were able to come to our Easter service at 360 Schermerhorn. It was so special to be together with you. From all accounts, many people felt blessed, and we got to see seven people receive the Lord! We’re kicking off a brand-new series called “Resurrecting Faith.” This week we’ll talk about what's the most important thing when it comes to doing that. Many of us who have struggled to get back to where we were and then to move forward have difficulty with one simple concept. And that’s what we’re going to discuss this week. It’s a great time to invite a friend! Remember that our live services are held in a safe, clean space, and we hope to see you Sunday at 10 a.m. Kids’ Church is open as well in their brand-new room!

Resurrecting Faith-Easter - Audio
04/04/2021 Duração: 28minHey family, as New York City tries to get back to some semblance of normalcy, with stadiums opening and indoor dining at restaurants, we look forward to this Easter season to be the time where we return to pursuing Christ and growing together in physical community. This has been a very tough season for many of us in isolation, so we invite you to come to our Good Friday and Easter services. We will be socially distanced, wearing masks, and everything sanitized in preparation--but most of all, we'll be getting back to the joy of connecting with one another and worshipping together. What a glorious privilege this is. Please invite a friend. We'll see you at 7 pm Friday for Good Friday service and 10 am Sunday for Easter. Children's church will be offered at both services. A preview of the Easter message can be heard online at 6 pm Saturday on Facebook Live (RHOW Brooklyn page) or via Zoom, 472 778 7718, password 0825. God bless you! --Edwin

Lent - Audio
21/03/2021 Duração: 37minHey family, the holiest time of the Christian year is approaching, and we can't wait to see you at our live services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. In preparation for this experience of Christ's death and resurrection, we have been in a series that calls us to look deeply at ourselves and our relationship to our savior. This week, Pastor Gus will speak about how God gives each one of us the gift of Faith, to be used to come to Christ but also to trust in God the Father. There are many blessings God has for his children, blessings that remain unwrapped because we hold on to other things so tightly. We can't experience what He has for us until we realize that it is better to give than to receive. Generosity is where it all begins. Join us this Sunday for week 5 of our Lent series. Our live service is Sunday at 10 a.m., and we are making sure all guidelines are met for keeping our space clean and healthy. There will be a preview service online Saturday at 6 pm on Facebook Live (RHOW-Brooklyn page) or on Z

Lent-Can I help you? - Audio

As we continue in our Lenten series leading up to Easter, this week we’ll learn about intercessionary prayer--praying deeply and purposefully on behalf of other people. Join us Saturday or Sunday to find out more about what that means and how it works. (Don't forget, Daylight Savings Time begins Saturday night--set your clocks forward one hour.) Each week we are using a devotional study to help in understanding our topic. Here is a link to the seven-week devotional. Those who attend service at RHOW at 10 am Sunday will receive it as a printout. The Gift - Audio
06/12/2020 Duração: 39minHey Family, we have never needed hope more than we need it in this season. For many of us, 2020 has been a year of loss, pain, disappointment, and confusion. It's into this world that the infant Christ is born--and he offers himself as a consolation to all our hurts. Come this Sunday as we celebrate Communion as a church family and talk about the baby Jesus, who would give us hope even in a year like 2020. --Edwin
