Hey family, I hope you are enjoying this Memorial Day weekend. Every Sunday I tell you that you are not attending a service, but that God is constructing a soul. And the reason we say this is to be reminded that this is a slow work of Jesus and we need each other along the way. family, I hope you'll invite a friend this Sunday when we continue our brand-new series, The Jesus I Never Knew. All of us have seen those game shows where the contestant has to pick either door #1, door #2, or door #3. Usually there's a wonderful prize behind one door and something not so wonderful behind the other two. Since we're all familiar with doors being a way to either great treasure or terrible disappointment, it's interesting when Jesus says about himself, "I am the door." He's speaking to the desperate needs we all have in our lives--for security, salvation, satisfaction, and more. He's a door that we all need to walk through and trust. Hey family, we're starting a brand-new series called "The Jesus I Never Knew." We're going to look at seven "I am" statements that Jesus made in the book of John that will allow us to see Jesus in a new and profound light. Some of the biggest heartaches we'll ever have in life come from not understanding who God is, and nobody tells us who God is better than Jesus. Invite a friend who wants to figure out whether Christianity is for them--or a friend who wants to deepen their walk with Christ. Let's pursue him together.

Hey family, the next few days are an amazing opportunity to invite your friends to church. First, this Sunday, April 13, is Palm Sunday, which commemorates Jesus riding into Jerusalem to be greeted by crowds cheering and waving palms. Next will be Good Friday, April 18, when you will experience a truly special service like none we have ever done before, followed by a delicious catered meal. (Please reserve your spots by clicking on this link!) And then, of course, Sunday April 20 is Easter itself, Resurrection Sunday, the holiest day on the Christian calendar. There will be a special Easter service for kids 5-12 as well. Sunday services start at 10 a.m. On Good Friday, the doors will open at 5:30 and service begins at 6, with dinner to follow. I cannot stress how important it is to invite others. Souls matter, and eternal souls matter. Your friends are looking for hope. In this very crazy world, where politics and finances and everything else seem so wild right now, we find our hope in Christ. So please put

And now for the real important part of this message! In our latest series we’ve been talking about our identities—who we are now that we believe in Christ. As we’ve said before, the most important thing about you is what you think about God. The second most important thing is what you think about yourself. There’s no need to struggle with a wrong identity that was bestowed upon us early in our lives and simply does not fit anymore. I look forward to talking more about this on Sunday. Next Step Community Church

Hey family, before we start, I just want you to know that there are a lot of different ways that we’re growing together in our church this year. We have Bible studies, service opportunities, and even a salsa class coming up! So get plugged in on Sundays and start growing. The most important thing in the world is what you think about God. The second most important is what you think about yourself. Many of us grew up in families who instilled in us an identity that no longer matches who we are in Christ. Perhaps it is was through verbal abuse, physical abuse, or psychological abuse. Or maybe you just heard from the world this idea that you couldn’t be free, grow healthy, or move forward with what God has called you to do. This week is the second part of our IDENTITY series. We’re going to look at the scriptures and see what God says about us--and how that changes everything, in every aspect of our lives. Hey family, it's important to be a church that does life together, from learning to fun! Two opportunities are starting soon that will be a great opportunity to meet new people and to grow in being a Christian. First, we're starting a Zoom Bible study that EVERYONE is invited to join.
