The Baby-Sitters Club followed the story of seven junior-high-school girls who organize a daycare camp for children while at the same time experiencing classic adolescent growing pains. It was released back in 1995 and is now celebrating it's 20th year anniversary with a special screening in Texas. I had the honor to speak with Melanie Mayron, the director of the film, about the film itself and her amazing career as both an actor and a director.

Today, I spoke with Cyrus Kapadia about his film The Wages of Sin that is currently finishing up a final round of funding on Indiegogo for post-production. The film hits quite close to home for me as it deals with racism and bigotry in the south, specifically with mixed-race couples. Cyrus is one of those filmmakers that took a moment in his life that others would consider very detrimental and turned it into a positive force by taking hold of his dreams of becoming a filmmaker.

Today I spoke with an energetic and enthusiastic filmmaker who is taking his career by storm with his first feature project, Hotline-666. Chris Cordova has had ties in the entertainment business for quite some time now, having worked on commercials and music videos for large brands and big personalities. His goal in filming Hotline-666 is to launch his career as a filmmaker and he has set his sights on some rather large milestones in his life. I am extremely impressed by his energy and his drive to make things happen, after all, that's all you need in this business: willpower and determination to see it done.

Today I had the rare treat to speak to a legend on both the big screen and upon the stage, David Winters. David is an icon in both Hollywood and Broadway, having worked on such plays and films as West Side Story and The Last Horror Film. Having worked with legends in the arts, such as Elvis Presley, Barbara Streisand, Paul Newman and Kirk Douglas, David is no stranger to talent or detail. On this episode, David and I speak about his latest film, Dancin' It's On, which will be open worldwide on October 30th of 2015 and is poised to set the world on fire with a genuine love story that does not resort to sexual situations or crude language to hammer the message home. It's an honest-to-God feel good film about two people who fall in love and learn they speak the same language, Dance.

When I spoke with Kathleen Davison about Primrose Lane, I honestly didn't expect to hear a fellow skeptic of supernatural activity talk about a very real and visceral experience with "otherworldly" encounters. What I expected was a fellow advocate for women in film and diversity in film to speak out about the inequities in the film and Hollywood industry and talk about the changes we would like to see. I am very glad that I got to have both during my conversation with Kathleen. When we started talking about her film, Primrose Lane, I was fascinated by both her personal journey and by the progress of the film. How it came to be is one of those awesome stories that happen only in the film industry.

Although this episode goes a little longer than normal, it is packed with valuable information from the writer and creator of the film The Surface, which stars Sean Astin, Chris Mulkey and Mimi Rogers.    

You all are probably aware by now that I am a huge fan of the independent film and unique storytelling, so when I sat down to watch Blood Punch I started out in the middle of the road. The film begins with a rather cliche opening that seemingly every indie horror film does, but after a few minutes the film really takes off in a direction I wasn't expecting. On today's episode, I talk with the writer of the film Eddie Guzelian and we chat about his writing process, the other work that he's done and, of course, Blood Punch.  

Today, I had the honor of speaking with Tanjareen Thomas about her career and her role in the Bounce.tv series Family Time. Tanjareen is a veteran in the film business with an impressive list of credits and accomplishments, but her personality and energy is what I found most impressive. Today is the second half of the special 2-part episode of Film Fervor where I speak about the movie Bread and Butter. My guest for this episode is the writer / director, Liz Manashil who shares with us the concept and process behind creating this awesome film and how her personal life is reflected on the screen. This goes to further solidify the old saying "Write what you know" in the entertainment business and Liz certainly does that.

I spoke with actress and filmmaker Christine Weatherup about her role in the independent film Bread and Butter and how she was cast. This is a special two-part episode where I get perspectives on creation of the film, first with the actor and then with the writer / director.   What is most exciting about this episode for me is that I truly enjoyed watching the film and it had just the right mixture of comedy and anti-romance to keep me glued.

So, I spoke with Umberto Celisano a few weeks about about his role in the AMC miniseries Making of the Mob: New York and we spoke at great length about all things cinema, his work and his passion in the industry. One thing he metioned to me was a film that he had done called Super Zero: Badass Journey into Zombie Awesomeness.   Now, I have to admit, when I first heard the title I was instantly curious. People may see the title and immediately think it's going to be something awful, and frankly I've been guilty of judging things similarly, but in this case I was very pleased with what I found.   Mitch Cohen is the writer/director of the film and he, along with Umberto, joins me today to talk about the project and to tell us a little more of what is in store for the future of the film. On today's episode, I had a real pleasure chatting with actor Samrat Chakrabarti about his career and how he has adapted over the years in the industry.
