Looking for shade on a hot day, I wonder why CC Sabathia wants people not to play hard against him. Then I marvel at how Justin Verlander and his trade to Houston changed the entire playoff landscape.

Thoughts and more importantly effort need to be sent to Houston. I look at ways to not screw up optics. Then I implore the Giants to trade Jeff Samardzija to one of 5 teams who could be desperate for a decent but not great pitcher.

Rich Hill's lost a game where he threw a no hitter through 9 innings. Dellin Betances lost a game where he threw 2 pitches. Go figure those stats. Meanwhile the Tigers need a new manager and Gary Sanchez is an idiot.

Giancarlo Stanton is having an unbelievable season playing for the Miami Marlins. Should the Red Sox try to trade for him? HELL NO!!! Would YOU sign an injury prone player in his late 20's to an 11 year contract? At the cost of one of your core players? I hope not. That plus I call for the name to be changed for Yawkey Way and I figure out which Cardinals team should have won.

Listener @pld3009 is bored at the mall. So I talk about a potential 8 way tie for the AL Wild Card, the career of Jared Weaver and figure out which Orioles team should have won.

The Rays could very well win the American League pennant this year. We all have to be fine with that because it is a great story. They have been a great story for a decade. I pick the Rays team that should have won plus I explain my disdain for fire crackers on this Fifth of July.
