Sully Baseball

Before Game 6 of the World Series, I visited my kid's little league field and realized that this was the greatest Astros team of all time. During Game 6 of the World Series, I went Trick or Treating. After Game 6 of the World Series, I barked with dogs.

Game 5 of the 2017 World Series was absolutely bonkers. It was a chain reaction of dramatic moments that happened last night and banal events from a few nights before that all added up to be the sum total that was the game. I give Clayton Kershaw a break, criticize the Dodgers and hope that the series goes 7 to become an all time classic.

I wanted to walk around Dodger Stadium but it was locked up. I address Yuli Gurriel's racist gesture and Ken Giles horrific outing.

Brad Peacock helped show that the Astros are using their bullpen the way it should be used: Use the best pitchers for the best situation to win a game. I hope the Series goes 6 or 7 to become a classic. Meanwhile my son's give their World Series thoughts and tie it to Jurassic Park.

Game 2 of the 2017 World Series was nothing short of crazy. The Astros and Dodgers need to take a good hard look at how they use their pitchers. Meanwhile the Yankees ended the Joe Girardi Era. I do not know why but I have some thoughts of where his career should head.

The World Series has begun down the street and let me tell you, there is nothing quite like a local team in the fall classic (even if it is over 100 degrees outside.) Meanwhile it is the 5th anniversary of the podcast, but my celebration this year is a little more muted. Being thankful of the hometown team in it and my friends in podcast land this Episode of Sully Baseball.

The Astros chucked away the tyranny of the save and won a pennant along the way. It was the greatest moment in Astros history. The World Series is set up and the Dodgers and Astros have tons of feel good storylines on both sides. Meanwhile, Dusty Baker was fired and I give him credit where it is due.

I visited Loan Mart Field, the home of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, to talk about the newly crowned NL Champion Dodgers.

The Yankees are good again and I can't deal with it. A strange poster on Twitter has issues with me and my son forgot to tell me he has a cross country event.

It has been a few weeks since I've done a podcast. As I am trying to get my home in order, I have a few thoughts about what has happened this October.

The regular season ends today. Brewers fans got some heart break last night but hope for the future. Red Sox fans should be elated. Angels fans should be angry. And I for one am hoping that the World Series is played in the freezing cold of Denver and Minneapolis.  Saying good bye to the friend that is the regular season on this Episode of Sully Baseball.

I inexplicably fell down walking home this morning and the Red Sox did the same thing this evening.

I believe some people want to know which Cubs team is the team that should have won. Well, I have given it some thought and I think the ideal Cubs title year might not be the one you are thinking of.

Bad things happen to teams when Adrian Gonzalez is on the active roster. Not saying he is the cause. Just making an observation. Meanwhile Ken Gura ( @kengura463inCLE on Twitter ) has some thoughts on media bias that facts might not back up.

A miserable weekend has effectively cost the Cardinals a chance at the NL Central and possibly a post season spot. Mike Matheny has been the Cardinals manager for 6 seasons. He should not be there for a seventh.

There are at least 4 and maybe as many as 7 managerial openings in baseball at the end of this season. A group of candidates, including Dave Martinez, Joey Cora and Jose Oquendo, are still available. Why aren't they front runners for these jobs?

The Cardinals and Brewers can work together to have the NL Central in a three way tie for first by the end of the weekend... IF they won all of their games. The Cardinals spoiled that on Friday afternoon.

The Indians have the longest winning streak in American League history. I hope they break the all time record because the recognized record kind of stinks. Meanwhile the Phillies and Marlins played an insane extra inning game that meant nothing.
