759 Escaping the Matrix and Waking Up to What’s Truly Important by Leigh Martinuzzi
23/04/2019 Duração: 11minThe Matrix is an operating system controlled by machines. The machines are in full power. They manipulate how we humans feel by tapping into the way we perceive the world. This is carried out by the stimulation of our senses that send signals to the brain that depict our reality. In this state, we have a disillusioned sense of tranquillity, happiness and security. We believe whatever we want to believe. A feeling that we are in control. At the same time, we are blissfully ignorant. It is this ignorance, combined with a disregard to the truth and a lack of ownership in seeking the truth, that we create the suffering that exists in our lives. Read more...

756 Comparison Is The Thief Of Joy by Leigh Martinuzzi
29/03/2019 Duração: 05minComparison Is The Thief Of Joy “Comparison is the thief of joy.” Theodore Roosevelt Comparison; the act or process of comparing which usually has one examining the similarities or dissimilarities of two or more things or people. In this statement, I believe Roosevelt is suggesting that it is the comparing of oneself to another that is the true thief of joy, not the comparison of things. Why does a consideration of our similarities or differences to another deplete our happiness? I feel that the key issue here is that in comparison we focus our attention and energy on what others have, do or their state of being instead of focusing on our own. This weakens our personal progress and also neglects to give thanks to all that we have, do and are. Without this personal gratitude, we develop an attachment to cravings, always wanting to be, do and have more. And yet, we are unable to achieve this right now. Such an expectation of a created false reality will let us down when expectations are not met. Comparing o

750 Stay Curious & Question Everything
18/03/2019 Duração: 04minStay Curious & Question Everything “Stay curious and question everything.” Warren Berger Curiosity appears to be a trait of those who live well. We could call living well success. Success is to be defined by the individual. Living well could relate to the quality of life you live. It may mean to have good health, positive relationships, growth and progress. To better oneself day by day. To alleviate suffering and cultivate a deeper sense of joy. A sense of purpose in all that you pursue and the ability to help and have a positive impact on the lives of others. Personally, I feel it is a combination of all these things. A tough challenge and an important one. If we can uphold a level of curiosity towards how to live well, questions will assist us in finding the answers we seek. Once we begin, we may find ourselves asking more beautiful questions. Questions to help us to better understand. To find more meaning in those areas in life that feel significant. Questions will assist us in our quest for happiness.

743 Little Moments - Big Meaning, Memories and Joy
11/03/2019 Duração: 10minLittle Moments Written and narrated by Leigh Martinuzzi “Little moments, BIG memories.” Fergus Connolly It is often the little things in life that give us the greatest meaning and go on to form BIG memories. What do you really appreciate? What things bring you great joy? Is it the moments by the campfire with the family playing charades? The smell of coffee in the morning? A crisp ale in the afternoon while chatting with friends? The experience of heading to the airport ready to board a ship to another place? The sound of gravel under your shoes as you walk? The big events in life matter however it is often the little things along the way that add up to make our experiences somewhat extraordinary. I remember a time camping with the family that for an entire day it poured with rain. We were all huddled together in a small space under the tarp. It was those moments we shared under that tarp that bought joy and created amazing memories of that trip despite the unruly weather conditions. We have to hold on t
