In this episode, Microsoft PM Tim Kim (MSIS '22) talks about his interesting and varied background in the military, Amazon, and Microsoft. He then shares very specific and helpful tips on how he talked with Microsoft recruiters to get his resume noticed after numerous unsuccessful attempts at joining the company. 

Aisiri Ravishankar (MSIS '23) discusses the job responsibilities of a customer engineer (also known as solutions engineer or solutions architect at other companies). She also describes how she got into Google and the role that networking played. 

After a long hiatus, Foster Career Chats is back with Jack interviewing Filiz Genca, a long time ex-Amazonian and former COO of CareRev. She discusses her accomplished career journey as well as other topics such as finding meaning in work and juggling life outside of it.  

In this episode Jack interviews Sammie Walsh, a talent acquisition manager at the staffing agency Insight Global, to talk about contracting. Sammie describes why companies hire contractors, what the hiring process looks like, and the benefits of contracting.

Occasionally we'll have episodes of "How I Got the Job" in which students share how they got jobs with different companies. In this episode Laura Bettinger from the MSIS program shares how she landed a dream job with McKinsey & Co. 

In episode 3.4, Andy Rabitoy, director of Foster Services, provides tips and tricks on how to engage industry professionals in meaningful conversations in networking and informational interview situations. 

In episode 3.3, former MSIS alum Soumik Chakraborty describes his journey after the MSIS program to working at Tableau and then Microsoft as a PM. He also provides useful tips and advice for current Specialized Master's students. 

In episode 3.2, Foster business development manager Chris Milliken interviews UW alum and Sr Analytics Manager Matt Ravet at Amazon. Matt talks about analytics, his career journey, and the data skills that are valued at companies such as Amazon.

In the new season 3 of Career Chats, Foster business development manager Chris Milliken interviews Foster alum and managing principal Kevin Tam at the cybersecurity consulting firm Coalfire. Kevin shares the skills needed to get into consulting and provides invaluable career advice for students.
