Seven Wonders of the Word: The Word Saves
18/03/2020 Duração: 47minAs I listened to the news the other morning, I was struck by how surreal the events of the world seemed to me. Fear and doubt can weigh heavily on us, but Jesus' words, "I am the light of the world," bring comfort at moments such as these. Jesus shines brightest at the cross, where we are called from the darkness of sin and death, to new life. Links to course materials can be found below. Please contact me if you have any questions. Lenten Blessings, Pastor Richard John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (NRSV) Week Four Handout

Please contact me if you have any questions. Lenten Blessings, Pastor Richard Jeremiah 1.4-5 (Jeremiah said) "Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.'” Week Two Handout

Picture the New Testament: Caesarea Philippi
15/01/2020 Duração: 52minThis week we follow Jesus to Caesarea Philippi, where He posed the question of identity to the disciples. Jesus asked them very directly, "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter responded with what is known as Peter's great confession, and the rest is history. Unfortunately, Peter's actions quickly demonstrated that he didn't really understand the meaning of his own words. What does it mean to you personally that Jesus is the Messiah? How does the fact that Jesus is the Messiah impact you? Links to course materials can be found below. Feel free to contact me with any questions. God bless! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. 30/10/2019 Duração: 55minThis week we follow Moses from Midian to the wilderness of Sinai, where he was confronted by God, who spoke to him from a burning bush. Moses' call is a reminder that we too are called by God. How is God calling you to serve? Take a moment to check out the class materials below. In Jesus, Pastor Richard Exodus 3.11-12 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” He said, “But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” (ESV) Week Two Handout This is an embedded Microsoft Office presentation, powered by Office.

Exodus 1 & 2 (Week One)
23/10/2019 Duração: 55minThis week we begin a five-week look at the book of Exodus. The big theme that runs through the book of Exodus, and the Bible for that matter, is God's divine deliverance. God rescued the Israelite people from captivity in Egypt and led them to the land God had promised them. This rescue points forward to God's far greater rescue mission to save all people from captivity to sin and death through the cross of Christ Jesus. Please take a moment to check out course materials. In Jesus, Pastor Richard Exodus 2:23-25 During those many days the king of Egypt died, and the people of Israel groaned because of their slavery and cried out for help. Their cry for rescue from slavery came up to God. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. God saw the people of Israel—and God knew.
