Am Radio With Anya Marina

In this continuation of Anya's interview with radio legend Michael Halloran, the two continue lovingly bickering with each other and delve into more rock stories, Halloran's heart attack, his dark past, and what he's most grateful for today in this special episode of "PDXOXO with Anya Marina."

Anya opens episode 2 with details about her 10 day trek from Portland to San Diego and Los Angeles, including therapy and a little, kinda, sorta, not-really, quasi-tiff with her mother. Thus begins a two-part interview with longtime friend and radio mentor Michael Halloran (current DJ on 91X). Halloran reminisces about his days as an up and coming DJ at WDET, bassist in The Plugs, and manager for Rhythm Method. He tells stories about his days interviewing baby bands like U2, meeting Daryl Hall, Don Was, Shannon Hoon, and Frank Black, to name just a few.

Anya opens the first-ever "PDXOXO with Anya Marina" with longtime friend and collaborator, Austin-based singer / songwriter / poet / artist Bob Schneider. After some initial ribbing, Bob eventually relents and answers Anya's questions about the songwriting game and The Poetry Machine, his process, love, friends, career, The Demo Bible, and his forthcoming album, Burden of Proof.

In episode 4, Anya interviews longtime San Diego gal-pal Tristan Prettyman about her beginnings in the San Diego songwriting scene, covering Lisa Loeb in talent shows, her dark side, getting disillusioned with the last record, divine inspiration, surfing, the alchemy of love and heartbreak, and finding inspiration and "walking through the honesty door" on her new album Cedar+Gold.
