Ep. 09 - 10 Cloverfield Lane
23/03/2016 Duração: 50minOn this episode of Cynema, when not forgetting the names of H.P. Lovecraft, Andrew Loyd Webber, and Robert Wagner all in the span of a single hour, the guys find some time to squeeze in a discussion of 10 Cloverfield Lane, it's nominal predecessor Cloverfield (full stop), and Thin Lines both Red and Blue in color. There's also the requisite fellating of Zodiac, because ABWZ. And finally, on this can't-miss episode, Steve loses a bet for five whole dollars. For some godforsaken reason, Dan's microphone now sounds like dogshit. Apologies for that, but blame Steve because he's the one who lent it to Dan in the first place. As always, intro and outro music is "Welcome to Lunar Industries" and "We're Going Home" from Clint Mansell, off the Moon original motion picture soundtrack.

08. Hail, Caesar!
09/03/2016 Duração: 01h16minCan it be, a new episode with only a week's passing? Dan and Steve are back to talk about another movie that's already slipped beneath the tides of relevance. This week we discuss the Coen Brothers' latest offering, Hail, Caesar!, as opposed to discussing their past offerings which Dan always finds time to do. To say the least, it was a divisive film for us. We also throw a comment or two at other films such as Spotlight and Bridge of Spies in the wake of the Oscars. And a certain, controversial trailer gets some attention. As always, intro and outro music is "Welcome to Lunar Industries" and "We're Going Home" from Clint Mansell, off the Moon original motion picture soundtrack.

07. Brooklyn & The Revenant
02/03/2016 Duração: 01h21minDamn, Daniel and Steve, back at it again with the bad jokes and lukewarm takes about two Best Picture nominees just in time to be too late. Dan assumes all blame for the delayed posting (and missing the Oscars entirely). This episode was recorded a few weeks ago, but getting the damn thing edited and mixed (yes, we do that for each and every episode) proved to be a challenge. Anyway, here you go. In addition to discussing Brooklyn and The Revenant, Dan talks about a Coen Brothers Q&A he attended and Steve does his best to insult the best working filmmakers in the biz because he's butthurt he got fooled by Fargo. To any and all listeners, we'd appreciate it if you dropped us a line and let us know you're out there. While we love talking movies, sometimes it's hard to tell if we're only entertaining ourselves after all's said and done. We'd love some suggestions, feedback, or even unconstructive criticism. 06. The Hateful Eight
12/01/2016 Duração: 01h51minAt long last we have a new film from Quentin Tarantino. On this episode, Dan and Steve discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of The Hateful Eight. The guys pepper the podcast with comparisons to all the past QT flicks, namely Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, and Death Proof, as well as The Thing, The Coens' flicks (surprise, surprise), and even Star Wars: The Force Awakens, among others. Apologies for the mic issue that creeps up somewhere in the middle, but it resolves itself pretty quickly. As always, intro and outro music is "Welcome to Lunar Industries" and "We're Going Home" from Clint Mansell, off the Moon original motion picture soundtrack.

05. Creed
06/01/2016 Duração: 01h09minDan & Steve discuss Creed, the seventh film in the Rocky franchise. You may notices references to the Star Wars episode that was actually released before this. Blame the episode timing it on the holiday schedule, but Creed was in fact discussed first. As always, intro and outro music is "Welcome to Lunar Industries" and "We're Going Home" from Clint Mansell off the Moon original motion picture soundtrack.

04. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
04/01/2016 Duração: 01h27minDan and Steve make returning guest, Mike Manzi, uncomfortable as they traffic in racist jokes, misogyny, and assorted petty bickering—all in an effort to break down the latest Star Wars installment, Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

03. Goldeneye & Die Another Day
23/11/2015 Duração: 01h47minThere's something about a mediocre movie that makes you want to watch a good movie. With Spectre now squarely in the rearview mirror, Dan and Steve decided to see how it stacks up against the better Bond star and the best Bond film. And since Spectre kicked off a bit of a Bond bender, we figured we'd take a quick look at Die Another Day as well, arguably the worst 007 flick of our generation. If it feels like Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough are conspicuously missing, they are—but that's because we've got something special coming up soon for those. There's a few short spots in the audio where Dan seems to phase in and out of our dimension, but it doesn't last long. Sorry 'bout that. And as always, credit where credit's due: The intro and outro music is that of Clint Mansell from the Moon original soundtrack. Great music from a great composer from a great film. Great.

02. SPECTRE
13/11/2015 Duração: 01h54minDan and Steve are joined by a good friend and special guest, Mike Manzi, to talk about the latest James Bond flick. I'm fairly sure we all liked it, but it's hard to tell when you spend 2 hours tearing it apart. Mike runs the Cage Club podcast (as in Nicolas Cage), which we highly suggest you check out. Pulling back the curtain a bit, we're playing around with some better production. Sorry if it sucks, but I'm working on it. That music you hear is from the Moon soundtrack. It's one of my favorite scores from one of my favorite composers, Clint Mansell. Consider this a thank you and a declaration that we make zero money off the two tracks featured: "01 Welcome to Lunar Industries" and "11 We're Going Home."

01. Interstellar
03/01/2015 Duração: 01h47minDan and Steve discuss Interstellar, Christopher Nolan, and much better space movies in the unofficial pilot of Cynema.
