My aunt Pat Gifford and cousin Sandi Carmen talked about Pats late husband my uncle Bill and the importance of family Sandi and I discussed how important these get togethers are to us and how much they mean to her personally Aunt pat shared a humorous story of a prank she and uncle Bill pulled on Granny and Grandpa Gifford

My dad and uncles talked with me at length mostly about their 60s model Ford Falcon and some about a retired thoroughbred race horse named Glue Factory Both had their fair share of battle wounds from tangling with the Gifford Brothers The Falcon had a permanent set of teeth marks embedded in the dash from a family friends ill fated ride with my Dad Thomas Lee GiffordIt was a great conversation reminiscent of Granny Giiffords front porch

We had a big group right at the end of the annual family reunion My aunt Onita Lemonsand various cousins that are children of hers talked with me about Grannie Gifford and Grandpa and I think we got to the bottom of just how hard Granny Gifford was willing to hit you if you crossed her The answer Real hard

These audio files were recorded from cassette tapes given to me by my aunt Onita Lemons They arent perfect Ive cleaned them up as much as possible They contain voice recordings of Brother Chester Gifford my grandfather and namesake and the man for whom I named this podcast They are three separate recordings there will be a small gap between each The first two appear to be sermons and the last one is a recitation of original poetry by Brother ChesterHopefully this will provide some insight as to why he was so beloved by our family
