    Samantha Meeker interviews Daniel Sachs, an Atlanta based artist. Daniel Sachs is almost entirely a self-taught artist.  Disgruntled with the approach to studio classes as an undergraduate, he quickly switched his major to art history, as a freshman.  He received his B.A. in art history from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1978, specializing in Renaissance and Baroque painting and sculpture. Following his undergraduate studies, he attended the Boston Museum School, one of only three schools in the nation that offered a course called “Techniques of the Old Masters,” and then did an independent study in oil painting with John Burns (Unlike most little boys who dream of being astronauts or firemen, Sachs dreamed of being an artist from the time that he was old enough to wield a pencil).  Following this period in his life, Sachs worked as a freelance illustrator in New York City after moving there in 1981 and then returned to his studies in art his
