Intalere welcomes Brian Williamson, Pharm.D., President and Chief Executive Officer, JCB Laboratories. Dr. Williamson devotes his time and energy to compounding and supplying sterile products to ambulatory surgery centers and hospitals and working with consultant pharmacists from around the country to help them keep their clients compliant with sterile regulations. We will discuss the process of sterile compounding, USP 797 and how it relates to actual standards and operational procedures for Sterile Compounding. Dr. Williamson will discuss the role of the FDA or the State Board of Pharmacy in the oversight of Sterile Compounding and inspections of Compounding Pharmacies. The training/educational requirements for pharmacy techs and others who compound and distribute these medications is outlined. Lately, Dr. Williamson will recommend questions to ask when considering outsourcing products from a compounding pharmacy.
