I owe what I do to my time spent as a volunteer with Pembrokeshire Citizens Advice Bureau (now Pembrokeshire Citizens Advice) after I graduated university. I now lead a team of 30 volunteers for Tenovus Cancer Care’s ACTivate Your Life - Affected By Cancer service. Particularly in smaller organisations you may have the opportunity to take on more than you would in a traditional employment set up, so for it. Follow that passion and work for free. Find what value you can bring someone, provide it for free, the return will be greater than the effort you put in.
