This was a difficult 10 minutes to talk about. For someone who assists people with their mental health, it’s always hard to hear that someone has decided to end their life. I was not the biggest fan of Caroline Flack. As a result, I didn’t take much interest in her life. Yet still, reading the news last week that she’s killed herself still hit me harder than I probably realised at the time. My sister even feels the same way. Reading the comments and the hate that she received by pursuing her path is upsetting. It’s upsetting because we share this world with those who took the time to spread the hate and vitriol that led her to feel that she had no other option.
