In this session I had the opportunity to chat with Lauren Carson who is a mental health advocate and non profit leader. Lauren shares her battle with her own mental health issues growing up and how she stays healthy. Lauren shares her passion to educate others specifically girls within the black community by creating an organization called Black Girls Smile, Inc. She talks about her involvement within the Lee Thompson Young Foundation and their mission for spreading mental health knowledge within the community.
