Steve Terada worked in Hawaii real estate for over 20 years before moving to Washington, D.C. and joining the U.S. Department of State. He eventually was employed by the U.S. Army as a real estate specialist. While he was at Camp Zama in Japan, the March 2011 Fukushima earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster occurred. In June 2011, Steve joined a small group of Hawaii Rotarians to visit Fukushima to perform humanitarian services. However, Steve had to leave Fukushima City because it was within the U.S. 80km exclusion zone. He finally made it back in 2018. Fukushima was a safe and welcoming place to live. In order to counter Fukushima's negative reputation, Steve advocated for the truth about the current conditions in Fukushima. He was asked to be a spokesperson for Fukushima, and he and his wife rented a house in Fukushima City to do that. Steve is a volunteer who has assumed
