#86 Eric Carle and The Very Hungry Caterpillar
27/09/2021 Duração: 15minOn May 23, 2021, Eric Carle passed away after a lifetime of achievements spanning 91 years. He is best known for his illustrated children’s books including Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Carle is quoted as saying that he attempted to “…bridge the gap between the home and school...home represents...warmth, security, toys, holding hands, being held. School is a strange and new place for a child…I believe the passage from home to school is the second biggest trauma of childhood; the first is, of course, being born. Indeed, in both cases, we leave a place of warmth and protection for one that is unknown…” Wow. I couldn't agree more. And what a pro homeschool statement.
