During the summer of 2020, the team at Apologia prayed every day for the homeschooling movement. At the time there were millions of families who were seriously considering whether or not to jump into the deep end of the pool and start their own homeschooling journey. This year—in 2021—we want to invite you to join us in a new prayer initiative. Each month we’re going to focus on one specific prayer for the homeschooling community and the movement we represent collectively. Today we’re going to look at the 4th item on our new list: That kids will love learning and be able to say “I love homeschool.”

We listen to the Matt Walsh show. He has a segment where he cancels someone or something. In January he cancelled a mom who recorded her parenting crisis, then posted it for the world to see. We want to add our commentary and elaborate on some of the points he made that we believe are worth reiterating and looking at real close.

Today in part 9, you are most likely at a point when your kid started asking about tattoos, ear or body piercings, bikinis, or other fashion statements that make you nervous. Do you feel your grip loosening? Do you let them decide these things on their own? Are their any dangers? We offer two main suggestions.

The homeschool market doubled from 2019 to 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic was largely the reason for this significant demographic shift. Will all the newbies be one and done? Will the homeschool population remain flat? Or will there be another surge of new families that decide enough is enough and make the jump to home education? In this episode, we paint four possible scenarios. We even go out on a limb and make a bold prediction. 

Most reports agree that the homeschool community grew from 3 million to 6 million this last August. Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic was largely the catalyst causing families to decide to give homeschooling a try last fall. We want to share two important messages to everyone today. 1) You can do this. And 2) It’s good, really good for your kids.

Happy New Year. It’s 2021. January is a month when people commonly make resolutions and goals for the year. We love engaging in this annual practice. Today, we’d like to share some of the details in our goal setting with hopes that you will take away some new and practical ideas. We'll look at long-term, medium term, short-term, and now-term strategies.

When the shelter-at-home orders were put in place in March of 2020, millions of families suddenly found themselves in a mandatory trial run of homeschooling. As the weeks turned into months and a new school year approached, a large number of these families decided to stay the course and continue educating their kids at home. Curriculum providers, like Apologia, found themselves struggling to supply the increased demand for resources. Homeschooling was already the most significant educational movement of the last 50 years. Now a coronavirus pandemic ushered in a tidal wave of new homeschooling families.
