Whatever and whoever has our heart, has us. Because of this, we must make sure we place our hearts in the hands of the One most qualified to care for it.

God has generously invited Good Shepherd to join with Him in making disciples of all nations.

The only command in the Great Commission is the command to “Make disciples.” Every other verb in the passage is a present participle that explains HOW to obey the command to make disciples.

Want to Race? We were made to race. We race together. We race to give. We race powered by God. We get to race in the amazing grace of Jesus Christ!

As we prepare for our final and eternal destination with our Lord, there are still things to be done with our time here. We must continue staying fit for the race, assuring our running shoes are tied, and keeping our hearts and minds on the destination, not the journey.

It’s no accident that the Apostle Paul, right after talking about a church division, says: Rejoice in the Lord always. Paul acknowledges there will be struggles and divisions in the church, and if you get cynical about that, you’re not paying attention to Paul concerning where you get your joy, because joy is not drawn from circumstances, it's drawn from the Lord.

Today we are moving into Part 2 of our series called “Race Day” on chapters 3 and 4 of Philippians. We are going to see from today’s passage that every day, both now and later, is “Race Day.”

Paul considered everything loss compared to the surpassing knowledge of knowing Christ. Paul's example is that we win in this life by losing!

The way we walk out our faith should always be done together with other believers, modeling the unity shown by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in their loving oneness.

Paul tells us in Philippians that through the GOSPEL we are being saved from the PLEASURE of sin, the POWER of sin, and we will be saved from the PRESENCE of sin once and for all.

God calls us all to a Great Commission. That commission is to bring the love of Jesus to every person on the globe. As we do mission with Christ, we must remember that the Great Commission flows out of the Great Commandment––to love God and love others.

When we die to ourselves, and walk like Jesus, we’re filled with joy and that joy spreads & gives life to those around us.

We’re all on a journey. Where we’re headed is important but Scripture teaches us that how we travel on that journey is just as important.

The Good News of the Gospel includes adoption into a family. Scripture teaches that those who are in Christ are, together, Jesus’ body and His bride. The Apostle Paul calls this a deep mystery but tells us that God has given us a glimpse into marriage.

At the point of salvation, the old self dies, but God gives us new clothes and makes us a new person, one that desires to love God with all of us.

Can you imagine hearing that your friend was alive and not dead and you missed His homecoming party?! This was Thomas and in some way we all are Thomas. Thomas sees Jesus and realizes the story isn’t over. See Jesus and realize your story isn’t over either.

Jesus gets it. He gets what it’s like to be human Because He came as a human and is sitting at the right hand of God the Father as a human.

The Fall of man in the garden is the starting point of all sin, brokenness, destruction and pain. But the Fall is also the starting point of God’s redemptive plan of restoring us back to Him by His Son Jesus. God’s plan always involved the Fall.
