    It's Friday, December 4, 2015 and it's time for this weeks Friday 4 pack on Brando classic old-time radio. This weeks winner is Boston Blackie. Chester Morris played Boston Blackie on the radio show and in the movies. The character was created by Jack Boyle With his first Boston Blackie story appearing in a 1914 issue of the American magazine Other actors in the show were Leslie Woods who played Boston Blackie 's girlfriend Mary Wesley, and Richard Lane who played Inspector Faraday. The announcer was Harlow Wilcock. The show first aired on NBC radio On June 23, 1944 and continued until September 15. On April 11, 1945 the show would be revived with Richard Kollmar Playing the lead role. There were over 200 episodes produced between 1944 and 1950 in which during that time, Maurice Tarplin Played the role of Inspector Faraday. In 1941, a 58 minute movie was made Starring Chester Morris called Meet Boston Blackie. I am going to research and see if this is a public domain feature and if so, we will post that it on

    Nick Carter was created a year before the legendary Sherlock Holmes, in 1886. Many Nick Carter Novels from his first 37 years of existence and now available in the public domain. Nick Carter would eventually make to the big screen in 1939 and then to radio in 1943 and would remain on the air until 1955.Lon Clark (1912-98) was the voice behind the classic old time radio detective. Beside being the voice of Nick Carter, Lon also appeared on other classic old time radio programs such as Words at War and The CBS Mystery Theatre.

    Welcome to the Friday 4 pack for Friday, October 2nd, 2015. This week it’s Mr. Keen, tracer of lost persons. This was one of the longest running old-time radio programs. It began on October 12th, 1937 and ended April 19th, 1955 which was well into the television era. The show was produced by Frank and Anne Hummert. The show was based On Robert W Chambers 1906 novel, The Tracer of lost Persons. Bennett Kilpack Played the part of Mr. Keen At the shows beginning in 1937 and was later replaced by Arthur Hughes and Phil Clark. The show would later be satirized by Bob and Ray as they Did their parity, Mr. trace, Keener than most persons. Hope you enjoy Mr. Keen.

    Luke Slaughter of Tombstone was a very short old time radio series which was discontinued after only 16 broadcasts. Sam Buffington starred as Luke Slaughter, a Civil War cavalryman who turned to cattle ranching in post war Arizona territory near Fort Huachuca. William N. Robson, known from his work with such series as Escape, Suspense and The CBS Radio Workshop, directed. The series was produced and directed by William N. Robson, one of radio’s greatest dramatic directors and Robert Stanley producer was aired from February 23 through June 15, 1958. Buffington portrayed the hard-boiled cattleman with scripts overseen by Gunsmoke sound effects artist Tom Hanley.
