    Host Deardra Shuler talks to radio personality Bob Law, former host of WWRL's "Night Talk," about the status of Black Radio after the loss of KISS-FM in its recent merger with WBLS. A community activist, Bob Law is the founder of the National Respect Yourself Youth Organization, which established a national network of Respect Yourself Saturdays involving academia.  The Respect Organization has operated a baseball little league, a summer entrepreneur program which helps young people start their own business.  Also Bob Law organized the NY Peacekepers campaign which encourages non-violence. Mr Law is involved in film projects in conjunction with the Black Spectrum theatre in Queens where he is chairman of the board.  He is the playwright of "The Magic Clown," a play for children that is still being performed in NYC Public shools and he authored "Voice for the Future."  Bob's Health and Wellness store, Namaskar and his "Bob Law's Seafood Cafe" is located in Brooklyn.

    Host Adilah Barnes interviews Paterson, NJ, native Mzuri Moyo, a.k.a Lorraine Therese Pope, on her show "Adilah."  Reared in the church, Mzuri grew up singing in The Solid Rock Baptist Church where her family had strong ties. Upon graduating from nursing school Mzuri abandoned her profession to pursue her dream and moved to Paris, France where she sang in various night clubs. This enabled her to develop her unique style of Jazzpel (Jazz and Gospel) wowing European audiences with her extraordinary, soulful sound. Upon returning to the U.S., she was cast in the cultural film Sankofa as Lucy.  After viewing Gil Noble's "Like It Is" program on ABC, where she saw the great civil rights heroine Fannie Lou Hamer, she became captivated.     Host Deardra Shuler interviews latin soul singer Joe Bataan who is appearing with R&B singers, Blue Magic on Saturday, June 23rd at 8pm at Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in the Bronx. Joe Bataan was born Bataan Nitollano to an African American mother and Filipino father and raised in Spanish Harlem. He sang doo-wop on the street corners in the 1950s and in the mid-60s formed his own band. He developed his own variation of boogaloo blending orthodox Latin pop with R*B, creating authentic Latin Soul. In 1967 he recorded Gypsy Woman crossing over to R&B radio becoming an instant hit in the Latin community. Subway Joe was his next R&B crossover hit, followed by"Ordinary Guy." Bataan also served as a producer for Ghetto Records. Bataan's next big hit was "Rap-O-Clap-O" on Salsoul Records, which he co-founded.
