  • 100NO 497: Unpacking Tony Robbins & Lance Armstrong’s Longevity Views

    02/10/2022 Duração: 26min

An episode of Lance Armstrong’s Forward podcast featuring Tony Robbins is the topic of today’s conversation. This episode was done shortly after the release of Robbins’s latest book, Life Force. We discuss if longevity is as simple as using AI and machinery to create good health – or if the innate intelligence and other factors of life (emotional health, love, community and so on) still have a role to play. This is not taking one side over another – we both love the advances in technology. It’s more a cautionary tale for no one to get too stuck down one path without considering the other. We both have great respect for Tony Robbins and Lance Armstrong – their conversation has really just sparked this one. 500th Episode LIVE Recording – It’s happening! On Wednesday October 19, Damian is presenting Crack Your Stress Code. And the first 20 minutes will be a LIVE recording of 100 Not Out with Damo and Marcus in the room. Want to join us? • 100NO 495: Longevity lessons from the Queen

    18/09/2022 Duração: 24min

In 1926, when Queen Elizabeth was born, life expectancy was 70.6 for a baby girl and the chance of living to 100 was only 3.4 per cent. What happened in reality is that Queen Elizabeth outlived her life expectancy by a GENERATION! Think about that for a moment. In looking at the three major ingredients for longevity that we speak about on 100 Not Out, the Queen had quality longevity in space. She lived with a very strong purpose, was a regular walker and naturally had a strong social life. On this episode we pay our respects to the Queen. IKARIA 2023 is ON! We’re off to Ikaria in June of 2023 for our 10-day 100 Not Out Longevity Experience. After what will be a four year hiatus, this bucket list trip of a lifetime returns! 04/09/2022 Duração: 23min

We’re about being 100 Not Out on this podcast and mastering the art of ageing well – but you could argue that we don’t talk about mid-life often enough.  Today’s topic is all about that birthday with a 0 – and probably the 40 or 50 or 60 in particular. We absolutely loved recording this episode! The topic began as a serious one but quickly escalated into a mixture of laughter and (what we think is) edutainment! • 100NO 491: Bring back the drop in culture!

    21/08/2022 Duração: 21min

Damo surprised Marcus at his family home in Mullumbimby recently. It was a Sunday night and Damo and his son Jackson were a road trip from Melbourne to Brisbane. “We were just passing through and thought we would drop in and say hello!” And what a hello it was! This brings back memories of what our childhoods were like, and how quickly many in society have lost the art of dropping in on  friends and family. Everything has become so planned and organised that we have lost the art of the spontaneous drop in. We encourage you to go and drop in on a friend or family member unannounced … and see what happens! UPCOMING EVENTS IKARIA 2023 is HAPPENING! • 100NO 490: WHO typifies longevity – and why?

    14/08/2022 Duração: 26min

We’ve interviewed hundreds of graceful agers on 100 Not Out, but who are the core of the core when it comes to truly typifying ageing well? Many of our guests have been known to be good at one or two areas of life – but we know that that doesn’t guarantee longevity or a fulfilling life. So who has excelled in multiple areas of life. And why? We share our answers and reflections on this episode at the same time as outlining what we truly think longevity is all about. Enjoy! For more on Damian, go to www.damiankristof.com – If you are in business, Damian is available for corporate presentations on gut health, stress, longevity and nutrition. For more on Marcus, go to www.marcuspearce.com.au – Marcus is the author of Your Exceptional Life and hosts a 2-day event in Byron Bay each year called Create Your Exceptional Life. • 100NO 489: Analysing the Queen’s diet

    07/08/2022 Duração: 30min

On this episode we take a look at the Queen’s diet. We have very little confidence that the 18 elements of Queen Elizabeth II diet written in this article are 100% factual. Some of them seem quite ridiculous. But in the spirit of humour – and considering how serious our last few episodes have been (all about stress) – here we are to have a chat about the Queen’s diet. Click here to read the article we have been referring to.  Enjoy! The post 100NO 489: Analysing the Queen’s diet appeared first on The Wellness Couch.

    24/07/2022 Duração: 17min

Damo is in the beautiful Italian city of Rome and can’t help but marvel at the way the Romans live their lives. What has struck Damo is the pace … the walking cutlure … the history of the architecture, and of course the food! In our fast-paced throw-away society, reminders like Europe, Asia and other ancient cultures provide us with wisdom that is hard to come by in a little young country like Australia. If you’re feeling the pinch of busy-ness and time-poor living, we think you’ll love this episode. 03/07/2022 Duração: 22min

On the back of last week’s episode where Aussie music legend Normie Rowe joined us with his bride-to-be, wellness spa chef, Sam Gowing, we are talking the process required to make OUTSTANDING decisions in life. Now it might seem obvious – or not – that this is a VERY important topic, given that the consequences of poor decisions can be disastrous. But more than anything, we discuss the COURAGE required to make great decisions, even if those decisions are unpopular or defy the common stereotypes you’ll be met with when you make them. • 100NO 482: How Pets Improve Longevity with Emily Martin

    19/06/2022 Duração: 19min

More and more research today is showing just how effective having a pet is for a longer and healthier life. But at the same time, the longevity of pets themselves is under threat, as more and more pets are being euthanised each year for incontinence. Enter Emily Martin, Queensland’s young entrepreneur of the year and founder of Dundies. With 200,000 pets being euthanised each year, this episode has a two-fold purpose. Firstly, don’t underestimate the power of pet ownership as a key factor for longevity. And secondly, look outside the box when it comes to prolonging and improving your pet’s quality of life. To find out more about Dundies, Emily’s story and their range of products, go to www.dundies.com.au or find them on the socials. • 100NO 481: Are we eating too much protein?

    12/06/2022 Duração: 25min

Marcus has been listening to a number of podcasts featuring Dr Zach Bush, and one in particular was around the consumption of protein. As a former vegan, the protein conversation has always been there. On this episode Marcus grills Damian (see the pun there?) on all things protein – do we eat too much of it? What clues do our daily diets provide us with (Marcus shares his daily diet and asks Damo about protein intake)? And more importantly, what do we do if we are having too much protein? What impact does water intake and portion size have on protein consumption? So many questions! And Damian Kristof provides all the answers on this meaty topic! • 100NO 480: Stress v The Perfect Diet & Longevity

    05/06/2022 Duração: 28min

We’re in an ongoing conversation and pondering the role good food and stress plays in our efforts to age gracefully. There’s no doubt that a great diet becomes even more important as we age, because a poor diet contributes so heavily to chronic disease. Over a third of all cancers and diabetes are a direct result of obesity. And in the spirit of personal accountability, obesity is within our control. But just how strict or fixed do we need to be? And what if our diet is causing bucketloads of stress? Again, this is a conversation we could have for a very long time. But today, we give it a good belting for half an hour in an effort to bring more clarity to your approach to food and the rest of your life.
