100NO 504: Losing weight & getting stronger as you get older
20/11/2022 Duração: 17minMarcus is not feeling as vital as he once did. He's feeling a bit flabbier, a bit less strong and on this episode discusses with Damo what it takes to get stronger and fitter as we get older. One thing's for sure - it's not as easy as it was when we were younger! On this episode we discuss the mirage of weight, the benefits and drawbacks of data, and knowing when to use data and measurements to your advantage when you want to improve your health. 100NO 503: Magda’s Big National Health Check
13/11/2022 Duração: 16minMagda Szubanski is the host of Magda’a Big National Health Check. It’s a new show out now on the ABC and today on the podcast we talk about the approach the ABC have gone with in having an obese host fronting a series on health. Is it OK? Is it the right message? And what message does it send to viewers? Before you press play, we can tell you that we’re more than happy for Magda Szubanski to be hosting the program. No worries with it whatsoever. But the issue we mainly discuss on this episode is whether her own experiences (and her experiences with health professionals) is a template that could disempower Australians to not take responsibility for their own health. We referenced two articles in this episode – this one from the ABC, and this one from The Guardian. Image courtesy ABC. 100NO 502: Wearable tech and the desire for data
06/11/2022 Duração: 22minDamo loves data. As a chiropractor and naturopath, he’s always been deep into the science and data of health. Marcus on the other hand, is not a data man. He doesn’t have an oura ring and doesn’t know how much REM sleep he gets. On this episode we discuss many things including the desire for data and the positive behavioural change we might make when he have more information available to us. Our view at 100 Not Out is that there is no right or wrong, good or bad when it comes to data. Whatever it takes for you to make better decisions for your health – and life – can only be a good thing. 100NO 501: 3 Longevity Lessons from our family
30/10/2022 Duração: 25minWhat do we learn about life and longevity from our family members? This is a deep and meaningful issue that many people don’t ever really ask themselves? If you consider for a moment what you’ve learnt from your parents, grandparents, sibglings and so on, how much of what you have learn’t do you apply to your daily life? Being “just like your Mum” is one thing … but it’s another to really consider what you’ve done or believed as a result. On this episode Marcus and Damo share some big insights from their own upbringings, relationships to their parents and grandparents, and how they use those insights in their daily life. Marcus has just been to the zoo with his extended family, which has provoked this conversation. Enjoy! If you want more, be sure to check out our 2023 Longevity Experience to Ikaria. 100NO 497: Unpacking Tony Robbins & Lance Armstrong’s Longevity Views
02/10/2022 Duração: 26minAn episode of Lance Armstrong’s Forward podcast featuring Tony Robbins is the topic of today’s conversation. This episode was done shortly after the release of Robbins’s latest book, Life Force. We discuss if longevity is as simple as using AI and machinery to create good health – or if the innate intelligence and other factors of life (emotional health, love, community and so on) still have a role to play. This is not taking one side over another – we both love the advances in technology. It’s more a cautionary tale for no one to get too stuck down one path without considering the other. We both have great respect for Tony Robbins and Lance Armstrong – their conversation has really just sparked this one. 500th Episode LIVE Recording – It’s happening! On Wednesday October 19, Damian is presenting Crack Your Stress Code. And the first 20 minutes will be a LIVE recording of 100 Not Out with Damo and Marcus in the room. Want to join us? 100NO 495: Longevity lessons from the Queen
18/09/2022 Duração: 24minIn 1926, when Queen Elizabeth was born, life expectancy was 70.6 for a baby girl and the chance of living to 100 was only 3.4 per cent. What happened in reality is that Queen Elizabeth outlived her life expectancy by a GENERATION! Think about that for a moment. In looking at the three major ingredients for longevity that we speak about on 100 Not Out, the Queen had quality longevity in space. She lived with a very strong purpose, was a regular walker and naturally had a strong social life. On this episode we pay our respects to the Queen. IKARIA 2023 is ON! We’re off to Ikaria in June of 2023 for our 10-day 100 Not Out Longevity Experience. After what will be a four year hiatus, this bucket list trip of a lifetime returns! 100NO 493: Just getting started at 50 with Shar Moore
04/09/2022 Duração: 23minWe’re about being 100 Not Out on this podcast and mastering the art of ageing well – but you could argue that we don’t talk about mid-life often enough. Today’s topic is all about that birthday with a 0 – and probably the 40 or 50 or 60 in particular. Our guest today is Shar Moore, who in her own words, is just getting going at 50. 28/08/2022 Duração: 24minWe absolutely loved recording this episode! The topic began as a serious one but quickly escalated into a mixture of laughter and (what we think is) edutainment! 100NO 491: Bring back the drop in culture!
21/08/2022 Duração: 21minDamo surprised Marcus at his family home in Mullumbimby recently. It was a Sunday night and Damo and his son Jackson were a road trip from Melbourne to Brisbane. “We were just passing through and thought we would drop in and say hello!” And what a hello it was! This brings back memories of what our childhoods were like, and how quickly many in society have lost the art of dropping in on friends and family. Everything has become so planned and organised that we have lost the art of the spontaneous drop in. We encourage you to go and drop in on a friend or family member unannounced … and see what happens! UPCOMING EVENTS IKARIA 2023 is HAPPENING! 100NO 490: WHO typifies longevity – and why?
14/08/2022 Duração: 26minWe’ve interviewed hundreds of graceful agers on 100 Not Out, but who are the core of the core when it comes to truly typifying ageing well? Many of our guests have been known to be good at one or two areas of life – but we know that that doesn’t guarantee longevity or a fulfilling life. So who has excelled in multiple areas of life. And why? We share our answers and reflections on this episode at the same time as outlining what we truly think longevity is all about. Enjoy! For more on Damian, go to www.damiankristof.com – If you are in business, Damian is available for corporate presentations on gut health, stress, longevity and nutrition. For more on Marcus, go to www.marcuspearce.com.au – Marcus is the author of Your Exceptional Life and hosts a 2-day event in Byron Bay each year called Create Your Exceptional Life. 100NO 489: Analysing the Queen’s diet
07/08/2022 Duração: 30minOn this episode we take a look at the Queen’s diet. We have very little confidence that the 18 elements of Queen Elizabeth II diet written in this article are 100% factual. Some of them seem quite ridiculous. But in the spirit of humour – and considering how serious our last few episodes have been (all about stress) – here we are to have a chat about the Queen’s diet. Click here to read the article we have been referring to. Enjoy! The post 100NO 489: Analysing the Queen’s diet appeared first on The Wellness Couch.

100NO 487: Damian joins us from ROME living the SLOW LIFE
24/07/2022 Duração: 17minDamo is in the beautiful Italian city of Rome and can’t help but marvel at the way the Romans live their lives. What has struck Damo is the pace … the walking cutlure … the history of the architecture, and of course the food! In our fast-paced throw-away society, reminders like Europe, Asia and other ancient cultures provide us with wisdom that is hard to come by in a little young country like Australia. If you’re feeling the pinch of busy-ness and time-poor living, we think you’ll love this episode.
