It's a stormy summer evening for Cam & Miss E, so there aren't any campfire tales this week. Instead, there are garden updates and a poke at PETA, as well as updates from small farmers, homesteaders, and those planning for their own farm future.

Cam's flying solo this week as Miss E finds herself severely under the weather. Meanwhile Cam's got a few more things to say about Katie Couric's deceptive anti-gun film, plus a story about a recent bovine jailbreak on the farm, and check-ins with fellow would-be homesteaders from around the country.

Cam finds out his neighbor's cow is somehow getting through the fence.

With the sun settting on a beautiful May evening, Cam and Miss E are outside by the fire for this week's episode, spinning tales from the garden and the NRA Annual Meeting in Louisville, including a close encounter with a deer and a unwelcome visitor to the farm.

As Cam and Mrs. E sit outside by the fire, she recalls last week how she finally figured out what is getting to her chickens, bobcats! She had been hearing the roars and put it all together, causing her to build a new chicken tunnel to keep them safe. Also, they have an exciting weekend ahead in which they plan to plant their garden, as the weather is finally warming up.

What happens when a vegetarian decides to eat meat? In California, they get death threats. On the 40 Acres, they enjoy a delicious guilt-free meal. Cam's got both stories this week, as well as news of a garden wedding and the latest on food freedom legislation around the country.

Cam explains why farmers aren't cruel.

There a few less critters around the farm this week, as Cam and Miss E sent several of the hogs off to "freezer camp". They're also getting their green thumb on with updates on this year's garden, and some friends old and new check in as well.

Cam and Miss E discuss the returns of the cows.

Cam and Miss E are back at the kitchen table, raising a glass to the man who provided most of the soundtrack to Miss E's teenage years. Miss E's been busy in the kitchen trying to keep up with the sudden onslaught of goat's milk in the house, and Cam's got another great book recommendation for those looking to find their own spot of land to call a homestead.

Aging cheese in your fridge isn't that hard.

Cam has the story of a farm family in New York who are facing protests by neighbors… over the cow that they've been raising for food. The neighbors say it's cruel to eat the cow, while the farmers say that's why they have the cow in the first place. How did we reach this point where we're protesting what's on our neighbors' dinner plates? Cam gets to the bottom of it on this week's 40 Acres & A Fool.

On this week's Episode of 40 Acres & A Fool, the baby goats on Cam's farm are disappearing… but that's not a necessarily a bad thing.
