Cars Yeah With Mark Greene

Since 2004, Mark Hicks has been the General Manager and Chief Inspiration Officer at Chin Motorsports. He has over 600 lifetime days on the race track and over 50,000 laps at 45 different road courses in North America, Europe, and New Zealand. Mark currently, spends time behind the wheel in a Porsche Cayman, Acura NSX, Subaru BRZ, a Spec Miata, and pretty much any OPC (other people's cars). After all that, Mark has learned that he's got a lot to learn about being a great driver.  And, as often said, "behind every good man, there is a great woman", Mark's wife Maria is the co-manager of Chin Motorsports, and she coaches him!

Nick Veasey is a man with x-ray vision who lives in Kent in the United Kingdom. He creates art that shows what it is really like inside his subjects. Nick works with radiographic imaging equipment and takes photographic art to another level. His images are a classic example of the fusion between art and science and they take us on a journey into a world otherwise unseen. While he works with many different objects it is his work with automobiles, equipment, motorcycles and people that brings him to Cars Yeah. Creating art with radiation is complex and dangerous. You can find his work at fine art galleries around the world and in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Paul Magee is the founder of 95 Customs.com, a place fueled by motor culture. Paul’s an industrial designer with an irrational love of cars and bikes. He has lead design teams for large corporations and he’s been awarded 75 design and utility patents. He’s a member of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), The Design Management Institute (DMI), and the Sports Car Club of America. He has served on the Board of Directors for IDSA and actively serves in board advisory roles for the SCCA and the Cleveland Institute of Art. Paul campaigns an F Modified formula car in the SCCA Solo program and he has earned 12 National Tour and ProSolo victories.

Ryan Staub is a Partner in the Affinity division at Lockton, the largest privately-held insurance brokerage firm in the world.  He established the Lockton Affinity Motorsports team to meet the emerging and changing insurance needs of participants and organizations involved in motorsports.  Lockton Motorsports provides HPDE and track day participants with options to insure their cars on track, insurance packages tailored to the needs of amateur racers and professional teams, and insurance solutions for event organizers and tracks.  Ryan is a HPDE instructor for all the major car clubs, a Chief Driving Instructor for the Kansas City Chapter of BMW CCA, races with BMW CCA Club Racing and the World Racing League, and he has won multiple SCCA Midwest Division Championships.

Gama Aguilar is a technology and racing junky.  Originally born in Mexico, he grew up in his dad’s shop and it was there that his passion for cars was hard-coded.  After several years of working in the bleeding edge of technology at Hewlett Packard, Intel and Microsoft, he decided to try and disrupt the motorsports industry with Track Attack.  Track Attack is a GPS based lap timer, video recorder and sharing platform for Windows Phone, iOS and Android phones. Gama is an avid racer, going on his second year competing in the PRO3 class and Time Trials with NASA.  When he’s not on the track, you’ll find him working as a Senior Product Planner at Microsoft, training on a simulator using Forza and iRacing.

Bodie Stroud is the CEO and Founder of Bodie Stroud Industries in Sun Valley, California. He and his talented team design, build, and fabricate cars, trucks, custom chassis, and suspension components. His work spans over 20 years and his designs and builds have earned the Ford Design Award – Best of Show at SEMA. Bodie is the co-host on Travel Channel’s Rock My RV with Brett Michaels and he was featured on Speed Channel’s Hot Rod TV where his work on Tim Allen’s 1968 Copo Camaro was chronicled. He’s built cars for Johnny Depp, Johnny Knoxville, and Tim Allen along with a host of other enthusiasts.

Chris Szwedo has over 25 years of experience in videography, writing, and editing. He’s the recipient of national and regional EMMY nominations and a category winner of The Motor Press Guild Dean Batchelor Award for excellence in automotive journalism. Along with work in a variety of fields Chris has created automotive videos on Ralph Lauren’s automobile collection and signature works for Public Television distribution including Lime Rock park: The secret Valley of Racing and A Gullwing At Twilight: The Bonneville Ride of John Fitch.

Sean Tucker is the great-grandson of automotive visionary Preston Tucker and the Co-Owner of Preston Tucker LLC. He is an Automotive Engineer by trade and has over 10 years of experience in design, development, and manufacturing with some of the world’s leading car and truck brands. Sean currently works as a Quality Engineer at a leading truck manufacturer and consults at Ida Automotive and Rob Ida Concepts. One of Sean’s current projects includes assisting in the design and fabrication of the Tucker Torpedo concept car – a project led by Rob Ida to build the car that Sean’s great- grandfather, Preston Tucker, imagined before the Tucker ’48 but was never able to build. Rob Ida has been a guest here on Cars Yeah.

David Dickinson is the creator and editor of The Old Car Nut Book series. David’s books provide an opportunity for people to share their stories about life around cars and how the old car hobby has enhanced their lives.  His first two books, The Old Car Nut Book #1 and #2 have been received with open arms. David has now published a third book, The Old Car Nut Book #3: “A century of travel across America”, focusing on enthusiast’s stories about travel. He is the recipient of the Outstanding Automotive Historian Award from the Washington State Hot Rod Hall of Fame. Lance Stander has been in the automotive industry for over 37 years. He opened Hillbank Motor Corp located in Costa Mesa California in 1999 after years in South Africa where he worked with his father. Hillbank specializes in building the Superformance Cobra, Shelby Daytonas, and GT40 cars. In 2005 Lance purchased Superformance and he is the world wide distributor for all Superformance built cars. He is also the builder and distributor for Shelby’s Continuation Sixties Cobras. His is the only company licensed by Shelby to build the Cobra MKIII. Doug Garrison is an automotive artist whose passion for motorsport and especially the Indianapolis 500 has influenced his dynamic paintings. He grew up in Indianapolis and for years he owned his own design firm specializing in corporate identity and branding. Today Doug spends his time painting and capturing the dynamic speed and color of racing. His style captures the savage passion of the sport and he takes it to a unique perspective and dynamic. Even the way he creates his pieces are built around speed and innovation.

Tina Van Curen is the owner of Autobooks-Aerobooks in Burbank, California. Autobooks was established in 1951 and is known world-wide as a resource and meeting place for collectors, racers, and enthusiasts of all types. Tina grew up in Southern California in a family of car guys. While at UC Riverside getting a BA and an MA in Economics she discovered Riverside International Raceway and sports car racing. During her tenure in the 1990’s as President of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club in Southern California she took the plunge into vintage racing, joined VARA and ran an Alfa Spider. In addition to running the bookstore she has organized the Best of France and Italy show in LA, and the Queen’s English British show as well.

Charles Sanville is a Master Certified Volkswagen Technician who spends his days turning wrenches on modern Volkswagens. He has created The Humble Mechanic website that is geared toward helping to build relationships between technicians and their customers. In his videos, Charles takes viewers behind the scenes at a dealership service department and takes an in-depth look at how common parts fail, as well as current happenings and trends in the Volkswagen world. Show topics range from understanding vehicle warranties, buying tools, advice for both new and seasoned technicians, and tips for customers to help them have a great service experience.  

Gordon Maltby has been the editor of Porsche 356 Registry magazine for 23 years and his publishing company has several titles on classic Porsches in print. His writing and photos have been published in a number of venues that are both print and digital. He joined Motorbooks International as their art director in 1984. He went his own independent way a few years later and after writing the book Porsche 356 and RS Spyders in 1990, he began to focus his attention on the Porsche 356 model. Gordon lives with his wife in Minnesota where he is currently in the ninth year of a 12-month restoration of his 1973 911.

John Lohavichan is the Founder and President of Gleamfire in Belmont, Massachusetts. He’s developed a new and innovative car washing system that eliminates the need for the traditional bucket and water. His new product design enables the enthusiasts to safely clean their vehicles with less water both inside and outside of the garage. He’s an MBA from Vanderbilt University and has 20 years of experience as a Product Manager building software products for startups and financial services firms. Gleamfire is John’s first entrepreneurial step in to new product development in the automotive industry.

Joe Marshall is a designer and fabricator with a background in aerospace engineering. As co-owner of Mule Expedition Outfitters, an expedition vehicle outfitter and customizing shop in Issaquah Washington, Joe and his team provide products and services geared toward extended back country travel. Joe draws from a 15 year career in aerospace and a passion for the outdoors. Even the name of the company was derived from the US Army acronym M.U.L.E. which stands for Multifunctional, Utility, Logistic Equipment. Joe and his wife Dana are creating a community of adventures that share a passion and respect for the environment, cultures, and the traveling lifestyle.

Steve Kittrell is a freelance automotive writer, conducts automotive valuations, and the National Account Executive at Sports Cars Market magazine. He comes from a family of automotive enthusiast and his passion for the rare and blue chip Italian marques grew when he operated T. Rutlands West Ferrari Parts in Monterey, California before moving to Sports Car Market. Steve is recent contributor to The Prancing Horse Magazine and VeloceToday.com run by Peter Vack a past Cars Yeah guest. He is a judge at Ferraris for the Ferrari Club of America and he is the emcee at the San Luis Obispo Concours.

David Swig is a Specialist in Bonhams Collectors' Motorcars Department. His work includes consigning and researching vintage cars and maintaining an active presence in the historic motoring scene. He is a lifelong automobile enthusiast and a regular participant in historic car activities including circuit racing, road tours, and Concours events. His father, the late California motoring pioneer Martin Swig, introduced David to his own unique version of California car culture; David consequently grew up immersed in the vintage car hobby. He and his brother, Howard, organize the internationally renowned California Mille 1000-mile historic sports car tour each April. A San Francisco native, Swig can often be found racing his 1957 Monsterati Special.

Dom Miliano is the editor for Motorsports Marketing Resources, MMR. He is a contributor to several other automotive magazines including: Robb Report, Vintage Motorsport, Cavallino, Victory lane, Autoweek, Prancing Horse, Panorama and many others where he writes about cars, conducts road tests and provides photography. Dom also writes and contributes to numerous concours and racing event programs.
