Big Gross Movies

This week, Meg is back from her assignment so to celebrate we're doing a Weird movie special! We go back to 1984 to have a look at The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, an insane fever dream of a movie with a closing sequence you should watch on youtube.

This week, Meg is on assignment so Will Noye is back to watch another Star Trek Movie! We warp back to 1989 to catch Star Trek V: The Final Frontier AKA the one Shatner directed AKA the one where they shoot a photon torpedo at God Almighty.  Lotsa fun!

This week we have a boyish Q outfit us with well-tailored timesuits and head back to 2012 to have another look around and watch its second highest-grossing movie Skyfall with resident special guest Nigel Grinstead! We go into the history of Canada's most famous old-timey torture prison and then go over an unnecessarily gorgeous batman movie starring James Bond!

This week, we take a jump back to 2006 to have a look around and watch its second highest-grossing movie: The Da Vinci Code with special guest Alan Shane Lewis! We go over a crazy 2006 robbery and the robber who robbed it before being upset at the something something Jesus haircut movie.

This week, we crash back to 1954 to have another look around and watch it's second highest-grossing movie White Christmas with special guest Bryn Pottie! First we tell the tale of Saint Fred who helped and then move on to not being very impressed with Bing Crosby at all.

This week, after pondering Face/Off in a previous show, we head back to 1997 and went to the theatre next to the one we were seeing that in, avoided paradoxes, and caught the other Movie Nicholas Cage was in that month: Con Air! It's absolutely ants in the pants crazy.

This week, we flood the bilge-tanks on the time machine and head back to 20003 to have a look around and watch its second highest grossing movie: Finding Nemo with special guest Dan Galea! We go over why an old lady got to drink for free (it was for killing Nazis) and then talk about Pixar's charming fish-themed emotional manipulation experiment!

This week we load up the time machine with tasty treats for our trip back to 1992 to have a look around and watch its second highest-grossing movie: The Bodyguard with special guest Clare Belford.  First we talk about space punching people and 1980 Chevy Malibus and then we pick apart the dumb movie that lets you see Whitney Houston be amazing a few times in between a weird buncha stuff with swords and bombs.

This week, we had some stuff come up so it's a BAD MOVIE SPECIAL! Dave and Meg go over 1987s weird bad silly cannon films masterpiece: Masters of the Universe.  Masks! Other Masks! Courtney Cox? Buddy from Voyager? Yes, those things.

This week, to celebrate three years of Big Gross Movies we torture Meg by watching her most hated of Dad movies: John Wick.  We invent the John Wick Game, go over the trials of evil Russian Santa.

This week we zip back to 1981 to have a look around and watch its second highest-grossing movie On Golden Pond! First we go over an incident involving the Queen, a Horse from Saskatchewan and big hats before quickly summing up a movie where nothing happens for a very long time and then you're done.

This week we take our shortest hop back to 2015 to go over a military pillow fight gone awry and check out the second highest-grossing movie of 2015 Jurassic World with special guest Nigel Grinstead!

This week we head back to 1993, this time to have a look around and watch its second highest-grossing movie Mrs. Doubtfire with special guest comedian Rebecca Reeds, we go over a pizza empire's blimp-based folly and then realize that Sally Field was right and should have full custody of them kids.

This week we fire up the time machine and head back to 1987 once again, this time to catch the number two movie: Fatal Attraction with Special guest Jess Williams! We go over the tale of a teen who hated his new school sooooooo much he got Interpol involved, then try to pick ourselves back up after being shattered by the offensive yet still tense as can be tale of a guy screwing up and also a scary supernatural witch his wife has to shoot at the end.

This week, we take a joyride back to 1985 to have some fun and watch the classic action movie Commando! We go over the shootiest, explodingest, dumbest fun you can imagine that, it turns out, some people seem to think is a documentary.

This week, we take a quick skip back to 2013 to have a look around and watch its second highest-grossing movie Iron Man 3 with special guest Andrew Ivimey! We co over a rock punching Russia in the face before recapping a movie about Tony Snark, the jerk who learned nothing.

This week it's a BAD MOVIE SPECIAL! Meg and Dave get sideways and swerve our way though the vortex back to 1997 to watch Face/Off because we deserved it.  We go over Gun wizardry, how early to suspect a face-switch situation, space prison etiquette and many other insane delights.

This week we crank up the Delorean and head back to 1985 to have a look around and watch its second-highest-grossing movie Rambo: First Blood Part II with special guest Dylan Gott! We go over a slight change to bubbled cocaine water that drove everyone fully mad in '85 and then recount to you the purest, dumbest, greatest action movie there is. 

This week we moonrake our way back to 1979 to look around and check out its second highest-grossing movie Kramer Vs. Kramer! with our guest Mike Balazo we go over a whimsical escape from an authoritarian nightmare and then go over a movie about a boy and his son and his ex-wife and how family court is no fun. 

This week we swing back to 1969 to have a look around and go over its second highest-grossing movie: Midnight Cowboy with special guest Alex Wood! Meg does the research this week and we look at the Stonewall Riots before going over a masterpiece that is also bleaker than a Russian novel being read to you by a dying child.
