Big Gross Movies

This week we decided to jump ship from our regular examinations of Sylvester Stallone's hubris to have a look at Vin Diesel's hubris instead so we swung back to 2015 to catch the passion project loosely based on his D&D Campaign: The Last Witch Hunter.  We talk about how talking about D&D to any outside person is inadvisable, and go over the insane ramblings of a megalomaniacal nerd that really, really doesn't like ladies.

This week we run a scam on the time machine to swing us back to 1973 to have a look around and watch its second highest grossing movie The Sting with special guest Brian Ward! We go over a crazy helicopter situation from '73 and then enjoy a classic movie starring Paul Newman's eyes and Robert Shaw's limp.

This week we veer offcourse on the way to 1970 and crash-land in 1993 and figured why not watch something with kicking, so we go over the Jean-Claude Van Damme John Woo movie featuring uncle Brimley and the snakefire man we found because of a google image result of JCVD biting a snake.

This week we get back in the time seats and head back to 1956 to have a look around and watch its second-highest grossing movie: Around the World in 80 Days with guest Nigel Grinstead!  We go over Elvis' middle part movements and their effect and then go over the weirdest britishest awful things we've seen!

This week we got the time machine stuck in a ditch in 1995 so decided to watch another Stallone movie to really get to the bottom of this thing so we watched Assassins! We go over the five or six plots this movie paws at and try to figure what on earth happened and sympathize with the wachowskis desire to get their names off this turd.

This week we get ourselves together after the hiatus and take a joyride back to 1995 to continue our study of Stallone's hubris with Judge Dredd! Clones that don't look like clones! Microwave clones that look like ice mummies! Et Cetera!

This week Meg got a chance to do a cool thing, so we continue our busy streak and we're running another episode from waaaay back, we'll have fresh stuff soon as we can!   This week we throw a few adorable tiny bear... things into the time furnace and fly our machine back to 1983 to have a glance around and see it's highest grossing movie  Return of the Jedi!  We talk about the world nearly exploding a few times, an italian man who has 105 problems and then review the little bear hover dirtbike desert bumhole epic Return of the Jedi with special guest Shawn Hogan.

Due to a Mom saying so, we couldn't get a shiny new episode recorded for you, so we went to the vault and got out one of our polished gems from way back! We'll be back as soon as we can get more than an hour in the same room. This week we underestimate the yield of our time machine's nuclear engine and blast into 1954 to look around and watch its highest grossing movie: Rear Window.  We talk about supreme court decisions of some import, a giant explosion that sorta created Godzilla and then go over the suprisingly kick-ass Rear Window with fromsuperheroes.com creator/writer Diana McCallum.

This week your heroic hosts' frail forms have failed us all and we couldn't record an episode, so we went to the vault and brought out Episode 4 from when our mortal husks were not so dry and mouldy!   This episode we pedal the time machine into the morass of disco and flags that is 1976 and its Big Gross Movie: Rocky. With our special guest Alex Wood we talk the Turkey maneuvre, Mick and the Chicken-leg scourge and the emotional dams that are hats.

This week we crank up the time machine and head back to 1955 to have a look around and watch its second highest grossing movie: Oklahoma! We go over the tale of a French guy with awful busted up legs who caused a riot somehow and then go over the truly boring and terrible Oklahoma! Cowboys! Farmers! An entire plot based around a decision that is very, very clear from start!

This week we're back to take a trip back to 2008 to have a look around and watch its second highest-grossing movie: Kung Fu Panda with special guest Vance Banzo!  We talk about Iraq and the hero who emerged from there in 2008 and then recap a movie that is what is says it is and nothing more!

This week we dusted off one of our finest episodes because we went on vacation and couldn't be bothered to record an episode so we dress up the time machine in Gold and head to 1963 to look around and watch its big gross movie: Cleopatra.  We talk about the Birmingham campaign, Kennedy things, and then talk about the four hour money fire that is Cleopatra.  With special guest Ted Morris.

This week we carry on with the Summer Special series with a trip back to 1991 to catch Sylvester Stallone make a mistake called Oscar! We try to figure out what went wrong and come up Sly, featuring worst actor lady, Tim Curry the elocution robot, Spartacus SlapDaddy and Marisa Thomei for some reason.

This week, we slide back to 2013 to catch one of its white house die hards White House Down starring President Jamie Foxx Obama and Channing Tatum McLane and James Woods as himself! It's... not that bad!

This week we turn the time machine into whatever kind of truck that pays us money and head back to 2011 to watch its second highest grossing movie Transformers: Dark of the Moon with guest Alan Shane Lewis! In our history deep-dive we go over a real jerk's hidey-house before losing our minds for your entertainment watching the awful robot movie!

This week Cathryn Naiker is back in the time machine for a trip to 1968 to have a look around and watch its second highest grossing movie: Funny Girl!  We go over a crazy rich guy who did a crazy rich guy thing before marveling at Ms. Streisand and Sexy vampire Omar Sharif.

This week we're joyriding back to 1995 to watch one of the best bad movies we've ever seen.  It has it all, Clint Howard shoving old ladies, a guy with straps holding his brains in, a conflict over the only girlfriend in the land, and never forget: so. much. punching.

This week Allison Dore is back with us for a trip to 1978 to have a look around and watch its second highest grossing movie Superman!  We go over the story of Charlie the teen-marrier before being enormously disappointed with Superman.

This week we had to get an episode in a hurry so we barreled back to 1991 and watched our new favorite movie Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey! We go over robot doubles, death, George Carlin and fascist Fred the villain man.

This week, we spin up the time machine and head back to 1961 to have a look around and watch the second highest-grossing movie: West Side Story with Christophe Davidson! We go over a sneaky cold war spy ring led by a Russian pretending to be Gord the Gumball salesman before diving into a classic musical about street gangs, racism and lateral violence! Also love I guess.
