The End - Roger Meyer
31/01/2017 Duração: 03min“And they lived happily ever after. The end" is the way many children’s stories conclude. Other books, some movies, plays and narrated stories announce the end with just those words—“The end.” All physical things have a beginning and an end. Worthless Things - J. Davy Crockett III
31/01/2017 Duração: 04minDoes it frustrate you that so many things are made with “planned obsolescence” built in? You know, the product falls apart or quits working soon after the warranty expires? As you walk the aisles of your favorite store, are you appalled at the flood of cheaply made merchandise that becomes worthless soon after being put to use? Then, there are activities that soak up a lot of our time without resulting in anything positive or productive… Full text here - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/worthless-things

The Purpose Of Prophecy - Richard A. Wilson
31/01/2017 Duração: 04minIn modern, Western society, heavy-laden with materialism and secularism, the sense of deep trust in the accuracy of the Bible and its prophecies has become dull. Have deep, personal beliefs in God and willingness to trust the Bible become obscure and old-fashioned? Where will a downward tumble of morals and the rise of liberal skepticism and agnosticism lead us? Full text here - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/the-purpose-of-prophecy

Lessons From Rogue One - Mark Sandor
31/01/2017 Duração: 04minLike most boys born in the last few decades, my sons love Star Wars. Each new movie is greeted with enthusiasm, and Rogue One is no exception. As a fan of the movies myself, I usually look forward to sharing this cultural experience with them. Nevertheless, Rogue One gave me some pause as the reviews described it being a darker story and more focused on war than on the more traditional coming-of-age narrative that Star Wars usually focuses on. I decided first to go view the movie with my wife, in part to see if it would be appropriate for our children. Full text here - https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/lessons-from-rogue-one

Truth Lies And Santa Claus - Alex Celan
31/01/2017 Duração: 04minOn September 21, 1897, the New York Sun published an editorial which began with: “Dear Editor—I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says, ‘If you see it in The Sun, it’s so.’ Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?” The letter was from a little girl named Virginia O’Hanlon. What was the response? Security And Prosperity - Brian Pomicter

A Little Folly - J. Davy Crockett III
15/11/2016 Duração: 04minHow often has a plan for greatness been derailed or spoiled by some careless or foolish lapse of good judgment or morals? Many a politician has met with downfall because power and prestige went to his or her head, resulting in bizarre behaviors that cause them to stumble. Prophecy vs. the Gospel - Richard F. Ames
01/11/2016 Duração: 04minIn some religious circles, professing Christians argue that preaching Bible prophecy is irrelevant, or even contrary, to preaching the Gospel message! Bible prophecy may be an interesting topic, they say, but prophecy is not significant to our salvation. Is that true? Many professing Christians believe that the gospel is only about the person of Christ, and they ignore what He preached. So, let's first of all examine what the author of true Christianity preached. What gospel did Jesus the Messiah preach? Did His message oppose Bible prophecy? Or could it be that the Gospel itself is prophetic? An Evil Eye - Roger Meyer (guest columnist)
01/11/2016 Duração: 04minIs the "evil eye" some weird curse, or is it an attitude that we should strive to overcome? How do you look on those less fortunate than you? Full text here: https://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/an-evil-eye

International Day Of Peace - Wallace G. Smith
01/11/2016 Duração: 04minIt has come to my attention this week—September 21, specificlly—is the 34th annual International Day of Peace, declared by the United Nations: a time to focus on "peacebuilding" and putting an end to war and conflict. A noble idea, to be sure. But in its celebration, will the essential ingredients to peace be discussed anywhere, by anyone? Why Darkness? - J. Davy Crockett III
27/10/2016 Duração: 04minA generation ago, audiences around the world were enthralled by the Star Wars Trilogy, an epic story about the struggle between good and evil. The colorful, memorable characters were either on the side of the "force" representing good or the "dark side" representing evil. One could envision a number of obvious analogies in this tale and it made for exciting entertainment. Full text here: http://www.tomorrowsworld.org/commentary/why-darkness

The Need For Common Sense - Martin Fannin
05/10/2016 Duração: 03minWould you build your own house in a flood zone on ground below sea level? Most would not do this and if they did, they would lack common sense. How about a city? Does it make sense to build and perpetuate a metropolitan area on land below sea level? The question might be—can it be done? Obviously, under optimum conditions it may be done and maintained if massive funding is available. Even then, there is no guarantee that natural forces will not overwhelm man-made systems. To Search Out A Matter - Ray Clore
30/09/2016 Duração: 03minMedia bias is a common topic for discussion in the U.S. This problem is not confined to the U.S. however. Some years ago I visited a major journalism school in Bordeaux, France, and asked what the students were learning. Among other things, the Director said the school taught that there was "no such thing as objective reality." He said that since reporters could only see a slice of reality, their reporting was necessarily subjective, meaning it was affected by the reporter's background, point of view and philosophy. The Signs of the Times - Michael Heykoop
30/09/2016 Duração: 03minRed sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky at morning, sailors take warning. For millennia, people have recognized that it would be beneficial to be able to read the signs of the times to predict future events. Sometimes the signs can be wide open for all to see, but only those who are able to put them into the right context can understand what they mean for the future! Honesty Is Healthy—No Lie! - Richard Franz
29/09/2016 Duração: 03minIf you are in the habit of telling lies, then your “pants on fire” may not be your only problem. So says researcher Susan Guibert. New research from the University of Notre Dame was presented at the 2012 American Psychological Association’s annual convention, revealing that people who were able to reduce the number of lies they told over a period of ten weeks experienced “significantly improved physical and mental health.” Interesting?
