We've been learning about love. What it means to be loved, what it means to love others. This week we'll talk about our motives. When we express love to others, is it because we really care about them, or are we trying to get something in exchange?

In our series "The Way of Love" we've come to realize that Jesus lavishes more love upon us than it's possible to hold. What are we supposed to do with the overflow? This week we'll hear how Christ challenges us to take that extra and use it to change our lives and the lives of others.

Last week our series on love talked about the many definitions of love. It is patient, it is kind, it does not envy or boast or keep track of the wrongs that other people do to us. True gospel love reflects the love that Christ has given us. In the old days we might have lashed out at someone who seemed to mistreat us--but a Christian who has received Christ's abundant love can overflow with that love toward others. This week we'll continue in 1st Corinthians chapter 13 to the verse reading "Love never fails." If we truly believe that promise, we can have assurance in even the hardest times of life.

We've really just scratched the surface when it comes to everything the Bible has to say about love. If you've been growing in your understanding of gospel love, then I hope you'll join us this Sunday as we get deeper into the details. What's at stake? Just the way we live the rest of our lives!

hope you were intrigued by last week's sermon, which was part one of our new series, THE WAY OF LOVE. We only scratched the surface of such a huge topic in everyone's lives. This coming Sunday we're going to cover the question "What kills love?" The Bible has so much to say about what love is (and is not!). And if we get this right, it will change our lives forever.

I'm really looking forward to speaking to you this coming Sunday. We're starting a new series called The Way of Love, which will look at the many, many things Jesus says about love. One is, "Love each other as I have loved you." Is that even possible? God loved us so much that he sent his son to die in our place--the only sacrifice holy enough to make up for all the sins we have committed and will ever commit. How can we possibly love others in such a sacrificial way? That's what we'll start to explore this Sunday. If you have trouble dealing with people in your life who seem unlovable, this message will be a blessing to you. Bring a friend, bring your family, and we'll see you at 10 a.m. on Sunday. --Edwin

ave you ever felt like giving up? Have you had questions about why bad things happen to good people? Who we place our trust in has a lot to do with how we get through difficult moments.

Our series "Ghost" continues this week when Pastor Rob Rodriguez speaks to us about how the Holy Spirit brings clarity from confusion. When we accept Christ as our savior, the Holy Spirit comes to live within us as helper, comforter, teacher and guide. That great blessing means that whenever we face a confusing situation and must make a decision, we may call on the Holy Spirit in prayer. We'll be looking at Mark 1:4-11, the baptism of Jesus.

Our "GHOST" continues we'll learn how the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to express to others how Jesus has changed our lives. Don't you know someone who needs to hear what trusting in Christ has done for you? Those who are struggling with sin in their lives, or who desperately need hope and something to believe in? The Holy Spirit does not allow us to be tongue-tied in the presence of those who need to hear our story. Come this Sunday to hear about the power that lives in each one of us to speak up for Christ's sake. Our speaker will be one of our favorite visiting pastors, Drew Hyun.

Pastor Gus will be helping us to understand how the Holy Spirit--the third person of the trinity of God--grows us into MATURITY. We may chronologically be adults, but that's no guarantee we will act that way. Even at the age of 30, 40, 50 we can continue to be very immature in our relationships and behaviors. The Holy Spirit is God at work within us to grow and change us--if we understand that and get out of our own way.

Last Sunday we heard about how the Holy Spirit gives Christians a unity that the rest of the world can't understand--but desperately needs. This week our series THE GHOST continues with a message from Pastor Ray. Do you struggle with telling people about how Christ has changed your life? Do you want to give hope to others but don't know how to speak to them? You'll definitely want to hear-this message about the power the Holy Spirit gives us to tell others about our faith!

his week, as we continue our series on THE GHOST, we'll learn that having that Spirit inside of us gives us a unity that others can't understand. We look around us and see how broken the world has become--internationally, in our own country, and all around us in our daily lives--but our unity as Christians gives us a mighty protection. Our speaker will be Robert Rodriguez, RHOW's newest addition to the team, and I know you will want to hear his powerful message.

There's a wonderful old hymn called "Blessed Assurance." The first verse goes, "Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine, Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. " Yet you'd be surprised how frequently people who have accepted Christ as their savior fall into doubting that blessed assurance. Is there a way to know for sure that we belong to God? Come this Sunday as we continue our series GHOST to learn about the Holy Spirit's role in our lives.

Memorial Day is an occasion of remembrance and honor. What do you remember most? When life seems at its bleakest, God says, "Remember Me. Never forget what I've done for you, or lose sight of what I am doing right now or what I will do!" Join us this week as we learn that the work of God is not finished.
