We are back with a brand new podcast discussing the latest Hawkeye news. This week, Tom Kakert and Matt Randazzo look back at the Iowa basketball team winning on the road at Penn State and we preview the upcoming game against Illinois on Sunday afternoon. We also look at the Hawkeyes chances to make the NCAA Tournament and a tough stretch of games starting next week. Then we dive into football and discuss Kirk Ferentz wrap-up presser on Wednesday and look at some of the remaining football recruiting targets. We finish the podcast discussing out all Fran McCaffery era team.

It’s the first Hawkeye Report podcast of the new year and there’s plenty to talk about this week. We start with a look back at the 2019 Outback Bowl and the emotional response to the win from Kirk Ferentz. We actually have breaking news during the pod with Anthony Nelson declaring for the NFL Draft and we take a very early look at the positions of concern for Iowa football in 2019 along with a tough schedule. Then we talk a little recruiting and then we dive into Iowa basketball and the win over Nebraska and our concerns on the defensive end of the floor.

It’s our final podcast of 2018 and it’s a good one as Tom Kakert and Matt Randazzo are joined by former Hawkeye Julian Vandervelde to talk plenty of football. First we take a deep dive into national signing day and the 20 recruits that Kirk Ferentz and his staff signed this week. We also look ahead to what positions they are looking at for the February signing day and we glance ahead to some targets in the Class of 2020. Then we talk Outback Bowl and some of Julian’s memories of playing in the game and discuss Mississippi State and what they bring to the table. Then we dive into a little hoops talk about the Iowa basketball team before wrapping up with a visit to the nerdy nook to discuss upcoming superhero movies.

We look back at Iowa’s win over Iowa State and take a look at what the Hawkeyes will need to do once the Big Ten season starts back up in January. Then we dive into some Iowa football talk from this past week before getting into a whole lot of football recruiting talk with only one week until the beginning of the December signing period. We look at the prospects still on the radar of the Iowa coaches and the latest with the recruitment of Jestin Jacobs.

This week on the Hawkeye Report Podcast, Tom Kakert and Matt Randazzo begin by discussing the Iowa football team heading to the Outback Bowl for the sixth time. We begin the show discussing the controversy surrounding Gary Dolphin’s comments during the Iowa basketball game on Tuesday night that resulted in a two game suspension. We also talk Iowa hoops and their hot start and big game coming up on Friday against Wisconsin. Then we switch to football and take a quick look back at the win over Nebraska, post season awards, and the bowl game outlook. We also discuss Pat’s upcoming professional wrestling match coming up on Saturday night in Iowa City. Will he win the tag team belts?

With the Thanksgiving holiday approach that means an early in the week podcast with plenty for Tom Kakert and Matt Randazzo to discuss after a good three day stretch for Iowa football and basketball.
